I totally get where you are coming from. Sadly Zim entrepreneurs don't understand the true value of the US dollar. You get more for your money overseas. Starting from service delivery right down to the quality of the products you get. Establishments in Zim are good but they are still on their way to delivering services that are comparable to what's on the market overseas. Sadly business owners still feel justified when they overcharge for services. It's probably owing to the fact that, they don't have much competition which gives them the leverage to be exploitative.

So in Zim, even with the inflation attacking the rtgs, it’s also attacking the usd (balance me). So I went to this store, ndini zvangu I am getting things of the shelves that are prices in usd. I get to the till and this woman takes out kachart kake kanerate at 610 and starts converting everything into rtgs. So in my head I am like why are you converting each item to rtgs? 💁🏽 but I let her go on. We get to the end of this escapade and she goes ‘Cash or Swipe?’ I was like cash. She takes her little rtgs bill and converts it using her rate and somehow this takes my bill 10 bucks over the shelf values. So I am like to her ‘Your things are already priced in usd, why were you charging in rtgs?’ Hanzi heeee our machine only charges in rtgs. I left everything at the till and was on my way. #save my country Lord

The inflation on usd prices is the scam I will never be quiet about. Even America’s own usd is not inflated like that. We have no respect for the value of money here. And everyone just makes up their own ka markup on usd prices. It’s ridiculous 😤
