That is easiest way of working out percentage increase and percentage decrease word problem, original amount is taken as 100%, if there was increase or profit yu add it to 100% and do proportion, if the was loss or decrease you subtract that loss from 100%. In this case there was increase so we added it to 100% to get 120%
