ZINDAN kapija , Slavica sa Katarinom i Marinom

Зиндан капија једна је од многобројних капија на Београдској тврђави, изграђена у целини са суседним фортификацијама, као средња капија у правцу Дунава. Повезана је са Деспотовом капијом (изнутра) и Леополдовом капијом (споља). Изграђена је средином 15. века.
Карактеристична је по томе што се налази између две округле куле.
Назив Зиндан капија добила је у 18. веку када су је Османлије користиле као тамницу (тур. зиндан) по чему је и названа.
Београдска тврђава подигнута је на гребену изнад ушћа Саве у Дунав у раздобљу од 1. до 18. века као комплекс одбрамбеног карактера. Тврђава је данас својеврстан музеј историје Београда. Ову целину чине сама Београдска тврђава, подељена на Горњи и Доњи град, и парк Калемегдан. Због изузетног стратешког значаја на овом месту је, крајем првог века наше ере, подигнуто утврђење - римски каструм, као стални војни логор IV Флавијеве легије, а уз утврђење на брегу изнад ушћа Саве у Дунав, настао је антички Сингидунум, а на истом месту и словенски Београд.
Архитектонски склоп Зиндан капије састоји се од лучно засвођене капија са две округле куле које окружују капију и мост. Основа пролаза је квадратног облика. На бочним зидовима се налази по један прозорски отвор на висини од 1,25 м од нивоа пролаза капије. Иза унутрашњег портала ка Источној капији Горњег града, лево и десно су улази у бочне ходнике, који воде до различитих етажа у кулама. Куле су идентичне форме и намене, али им недостаје њихова међусобна комуникација. Горњи део кула завршава се зупчасто, са отворима на огради, као специјална врста заклона за оружје који су били веома ефикасни и функционални у одбијању непријатеља.
Капија је са унутрашње стране имала масивна гвоздена врата и помоћне просторије са леве и десне стране. Подруми кула су коришћене од стране Османлија као тамнице за хришћане, о чему сведочи и назив који је настао од турске речи „зиндан" што значи тамница.
Зиндан капија је данас повезана са Деспотовом капијом изнутра и Леополдовом капијом споља. Да би се до ње дошло неопходно је проћи кроз Градско поље.

The Zindan Gate is one of the many gates at the Belgrade Fortress, built as a whole with the neighboring fortifications, as a middle gate in the direction of the Danube. It is connected to the Despot Gate (inside) and the Leopold Gate (outside). It was built in the middle of the 15th century.
It is characterized by the fact that it is located between two round towers.
The name Zindan gate was given in the 18th century, when the Ottomans used it as a dungeon (Turkish: zindan), which is how it got its name.
The Belgrade fortress was built on the ridge above the confluence of the Sava and the Danube in the period from the 1st to the 18th century as a defensive complex. Today, the fortress is a kind of museum of the history of Belgrade. This whole consists of the Belgrade Fortress itself, divided into the Upper and the Upper Town, and the Kalemegdan Park. Due to its exceptional strategic importance, at the end of the first century AD, a fortification - the Roman castrum - was built as a permanent military camp of the IV Flavian Legion, and along with the fortification on the hill above the confluence of the Sava and the Danube, the ancient Singidunum was built, and on the same site Slavic Belgrade.
The architecture of the Zindan Gate consists of an arched gate with two round towers surrounding the gate and bridge. The base of the passage is square. There is one window opening on the side walls at a height of 1.25 m from the level of the gate passage. Behind the inner portal to the East Gate of the Upper Town, to the left and right are the entrances to the side corridors, which lead to different floors in the towers. The towers are identical in form and purpose, but lack their mutual communication. The upper part of the towers ends in a serration, with openings on the fence, as a special type of shelter for weapons that were very effective and functional in repelling the enemy.
The gate had massive iron doors on the inside and utility rooms on the left and right. The basements of the towers were used by the Ottomans as dungeons for Christians, as evidenced by the name, which originated from the Turkish word "zindan" which means dungeon.
The Zindan Gate is today connected to the Despot's Gate on the inside and the Leopold Gate on the outside. In order to reach it, it is necessary to go through Gradsko polje.

Yes, about 20 cm thick wood with metal layers. "Kapija", GATE is closed 🔒,in medieval times, during night... Now is always wide open...I think 🤔,I made some videos, where I put my mobile phone (Camera) near the gates to see how thick are these GATES.
