150 goals for a midfielder and i included national goals is quite big for a midfielder, zidane thrived in an era where it was tough to beat the defense of teams, he controlled the game with his skills, dribbling and making goals happen, its the forwards job to score not a midfielder and still scored when he wanted to. if we count the cup goals, he's scored 31 goals in italy.

zidane was xavi and iniesta combined, he could operate in the central midfield as well as attacking midfield and can score in big occassion, italian league its hard to score due to the defense.

and Iniesta scores a lot? NO. what were you high on, kid? if you want to praise Iniesta, you HAVE to praise Zidane too. he and Xavi is pretty much the same type of player Zidane. Zidane is even better because he's the one who drives his team. in Barcelona it's Messi, not Iniesta or Xavi.

Only 2 goals in 1998 season ( only in Serie A with 25 apps, no goals in Coppa italia with 5 apps, no goals in europe with 10 apps) total of 40 apps for juventus with ONLY 2 goals....Then in world cup scored 2 goals to help france win the world cup and that match is only his high performance in the tournament...then he won the Ballon d'or? Very much the hype man.he only won that accolade because he is a french..very overrated for me.. Iniesta is better than him i think ( FYI im a barcelona hater)

Numbers you quoted for 98-99 season, he won the Ballon d'or for the (1998 calendar year) which includes the later half of the 97-98 season in which he scored more goals and won Seire A and reached the final of the champions league. He was miles ahead of everyone in that year and won it by the greatest margin of votes in the history of the award. But since your logic is based on number of goals and you said Iniesta was better let's compare their numbers as both played in the laliga and let's see with their national team, Iniesta in Laliga 35 goals in 442 games Ratio:0.08 Zidane in Laliga: 37 goals in 155 games. Ratio:0.24 (three times higher) Iniesta international: 13 goals in 131 games. Ratio:0.1 Zidane international: 31 goals in 108 games. Ratio:0.29 (Almost three times higher)
