The Boat Gang is expanding! Great to see you posting a video Vinnie. I hit the subscribe button right away! I love tunnel hulls - especially the all wood variants which there are very few of unfortunately. The Zip Kits G30 is an awesome kit. I have a Dumas Hot Shot Sprint 3.5 F1 boat that is set up almost exactly as yours with the TFL lower unit and Flycolor (OSE Raider) 150 ESC. It's one of my favorite boats, and it is very graceful in the water. I run it on 4S and it's good for around 45 mph with a 4216 prop. It's able to hold most of the speed in the corners and it slides like a Tokyo drift car. Can't wait to see more. Cheers!

@@vinniebuiltRC I'm in SoCal. I live in the San Gabriel Valley. I have two awesome lakes that are both less than 20 min from my house: Leg Lake and Puddingstone Lake. I think a build series on the Shrimp Boat would be good to have on KZbin. It's a popular boat because it's so cheap - I had a couple. I sunk one and sent the other to Big B and he had a similar problem. I'm gonna start posting on KZbin soon too. I think I have a lot to share with RC boat enthusiasts. We can never have enough RC boat content on KZbin. Peace brother!

Vinnie, look for braided stainless fishing line and the crimps that go with them. You'll need a dedicated crimping tool (get the expensive one 😉), but it will make a miniature aircraft-style cable that will not pull apart. I don't think I can post a link here, but if you can't find it, send me a note. I like your build, it is very sanitary and neat.

Thanks Doc that means a lot coming from you.

I used silver solder to bond the cable to the endlinks on my pull pull system and never had a problem with them coming apart. Dr. Jet is right, however, it's better to use steel cable over the nylon cable that is common on RC boat pull pull systems.
@vinniebuiltRC2 жыл бұрын
@@georgegonzalez9281 I bought the doobro pull system and it comes with like 15 ft of really small coated stainless steel cables real nice it's easy to make a crimp for it
@vinniebuiltRC2 жыл бұрын
@@georgegonzalez9281 and actually the ends pulling off it's kind of like a Servo saver the weak Link in the system doesn't break my outboard off the back of the boat

@@vinniebuiltRC I have tried the DU-BRO 4-40 pull pull system PN 518 and did not like it at all. The cable is too thin and the end links are overly complicated. Sullivan makes a much better system with thicker steel cable and steel clevises that can be soldered together. My Dumas F1 kit actually came equipped with the Sullivan cable system, so I didn't have to source them out. Just trying to help, not implying that one way is better than the other. I'm in the process of building an all-wood, 32 inch catamaran that's made from the same company that makes the Shrimp Boat. I already built one that has an inboard motor. It was featured on Ironclad RC as one of Big B's subscriber builds. It is detailed with Martini Racing livery - maybe you saw it on his channel. The one that I am building now will be it's twin brother, but it will have a TFL Scale Outboard with a pull pull steering system. I've been documenting the entire build and I plan to upload it on KZbin once the boat is complete and get running video. Seeing your new channel has motivated me even more to get this first video done. I have over a dozen boats that I want to feature on KZbin including many vintage boats. Thanks again for your videos - I've gone back and binge watched your entire library. Cheers!

Nice video Vinnie and great build. I like your pull pull steering system. How do you like the TFL leg? Does the flex shaft hold up? I run mine with another coupler (clamping one) so I can use flex shafts with one round end instead of the double squared one. Cheers!

Hey Vinny....thats a good looking G30...neat and tidy layout...i know this is a far out question...but you wouldnt know what version the boat...meaning...i was working with Rod Geraghty on the cheater pads under the tunnel and there were some changes made...i guess i would need to buy another G30 just to see what changes were made...looks good...and the natural finish lower stands out...👍
