Just a suggestion but when I pre paint fascia etc. I use one of the little 4 " fluffy rollers. They really speed things up. And why a subfascia and then a fascia won't just one do? Look forward to your next video!

FYI, when you go build the rainwater collection system, make sure to do the first flush diverter system. I would also put in a sock filter after that and before your storage tanks. I have a 500 micron sock filter that fills up a bucket and overflows out into my storage tanks. This really pulls out a lot of sediment from the water. It’s not safe to drink yet but it’ll keep your tanks from gathering sediment. From there you will need spin down filters and maybe a UV light. Let me know if you want more info. I’ll be happy to share what I have done.

My 6 year old grandson laughed so hard at the antics of the baby donkey. He was trying to wrap his head around cows on his front lawn. When I told him he would have to avoid the cow manure, my three year old grandson brought me his poop pillow! So an effective video for kids too!

I just have one observation. SPENCER, I hope you don’t take it the wrong way but when you are working with or near rotating equipment, PLEASE ! Zip system is great, I changed from the osb plywood and felt. It is a little bit more expensive, but cuts labor drastically. Just tape the seams. If you go with the red sheets, you don't have to used H clips. Its thicker.

Instead of that Zip & paper rubbish, all you need is battens on top of your trusses and then custom orb roofing. That’s it.

My son and I built our own house while the family (four of us) lived in a 10' x 12' shed and a tent on our land. We really wanted to get into the house as soon as possible -- as you could imagine -- but we did the same thing you are doing, trying to make everything as strong and high quality as possible. We would like to pass the homestead down to our daughter, and don't want to hand her typical builder junk. We ended up living in the house while completing it -- but that may not be possible is a lot of areas. Hopefully it is not too cold in the shed as winter approaches! The place is coming along nicely, good luck!

You all are doing a great job! May I suggest that you set up a staging to do the fasciae on the other side. It would save so much time and energy going up and down the ladder. Get a 2x10x18 ft and use a ladder on each end.

You should be using the brown Zip sheathing for roof decking. Green is for walls.

After painting your sub fascia and fascia, you cut them to the necessary length, but noticed that you didn’t repaint the ends where you made the cuts.

There are 3 or more fascia boards butted end to end, and at each butt, will be at least one unpainted end. There’ll be no way to go back and do it later, unless of course you’re just being a smart arse, and you think he will pull them all down to paint them.
