Zippos Circus answer question over animal abuse claims

Animal abuse in the circus is scrutanised whenever its visible in this country.
Elephants on their back legs and tigers jumping through hoops often grab the attention, but here in Brighton there is a circus, which has been in action for decades, that has recently come under fire for their use of horses.
We sent out reporter, Jamie Walker, along to hear the circus side of the story

I have visited Zippos many times and always found the animals are treated well and enjoy what they do. I am a great animal lover and I would be the first person to complain if I found anything amiss.

These animals that I’ve seen on the videos here on KZbin, seem to be excited to perform! And I’ve watched birds on birdtricks channel do the same thing. That’s actually how they train their birds. By creating an “excitement” if you will, to do these acts/tricks. But first and foremost...they have to gain the birds trust and affection. Otherwise the birds (or any other animal I expect) would not want to. And most likely they won’t.

So in my opinion these animals seem very well cared for and loved. They look healthy and bonded to their owners.
