I’m no expert (have my 100T license) but I would’ve prepped lines and fenders before entering the marina, and would have backed strait up. Do it everyday on a 73 foot twin yanmar at the last slip. If they need a lesson I’ll teach for cheap

It's exhaust. There may be some gas particles from blow by, but it's mostly carbon from burnt fuel.

It’s water the exhaust is cooled by lake water. You might get a little raw fuel but very little and on the newer fuel injected motors they don’t put out anything except water.

@@chriss8970 Thinking about it, it could be beneficial to have that extra stretch in the lines depending on how they want to get on/off the boat. It's also very possible that they have no reason for it and just decided to do it that way.
