PSG was really a wrong choice. Bayern I think could have been a good option for him. Although staying at Barca I still think would've given him a chance to create a better legacy. We would've seen more of MSN and Barca probably would've performed at least better than how they actually did. We wouldn't even have needed to sign players like Dembele or Coutinho to replace Neymar. We wouldn't have gotten that 222 million euros ever and probably would've never spent so much in the transfer market.

I think he could have evolved much more as a footballer at Barcelona and eventually taken over from an older Messi as the world number 1 had he stayed. Playing with Messi kept his ego in check but once he left to PSG, you could see his true character and it wasn't what he needed to succeed. He was on the path to greatness but going to PSG destroyed his career

Nah leaving Barcelona was correct, but PSG was the wrong choice, they just didn't have the experience to manage a superstar like Neymar. If he had went to Man City, Pep would've kept him straight. But Neymar wanted the freedom to do whatever he pleases, that's why he went to PSG.

Why was that embarrassing? There were more clubs that could afford him. Thing is that he did not live up to the expectations concerning the Champions League for instance. Barça was fully adapted to his game. And PSG clearly wasn’t. Not even with Neymar and Mbappé on his side. That’s the Achilles heel from Messi. The whole team must be adapted to his game. Otherwise it won’t work. And you also need the right coach that is willing to do that.

Talent is one factor, you also need a good body to help with that talent and the right mentality, he lacked these 2 factors. Mentality is part of what you define potential, maybe he just reached what he could reach. I would never ever call Neymar a failure, in the Copa final he almost destroyed Argentina solo, the number of fouls they gave him and everything was embarrassing... he was also a bit unlucky that he would get so many bad injuries unlike Messi and CR7 but that's also on him not to be as serious with his body. Overall I think he has had an amazing career, could he achieved more? Possibly. Is he an amazing footballer and one of the greatest of this age? Absolutely.
