historically prussia used to punch way over their size, mostly bc of a loyal nobility and national fervor, the prussian miltary discipline was also a thing in civilian life, people saw it as their duty to serve the state and the king and even risked their life doing so while on the other hand france austria and russia had their internal crisises, france suffered from an unpopular monarchy and austria suffered from separatism while russia suffered from.... well, all of the above plus massive famines while prussia pretty much had none of these problems. theres also the fact that prussia was practically fighting for survival in eastern europe and most of the war was in their homeland so that also contributed to the countries ability and eagerness to support the war effort

Nice! Frederick would be proud! :D Prussians drilled more than any nation in volley fire, they could fire 4-5 shots a minute, other nations might come close in practise, but in actual combat it was another matter. I remember reading one of my books many years ago on Frederick the great, and by eye witness accounts the Prussians were fireing 3 shots for every one of the Austrians. So in open field combat, the austrians did'nt stand a chance, unless they manouvered favourably, but this pretty much put the Austrians on the defensive in almost all battles, after having experienced the quality of the Prussian's infantry in the first Silesian war, the Austrians would dig trenches after that. After the first Silesian war, Frederick found his cavalry lacking, and he took great messures to bring his cavalry up to the same standards of his infantry, and it would prove itself one of the best cavalry in europe, focusing on the charge and cold steel. As was evident at Rossbach, defeating a french and austrian army twice his size, thanks to Manouvers, high quality of troops and the cavalry trained in a new fashion that optimised the charge. Frederick reportedly said: "I won the battle of Rossbach with most of my infantry having their muskets shouldered." The French was so demoralised that they refused to send more troops against the Prussians.

Zlewikk, that’s a bit misconception about Peter 3 about his “simping” on freiderick and signing peace with prussia. In fact he was just smart enough to not dissimilate Prussia, because Russia have no conflicts with Prussia and also Prussian lands was pretty trash, on the other side it was benefiting France-big russian enemy and Austria with which Russia have conflicts in Balkans, so defeat of Prussia would result in practically no gains for Russia and destruction of balance in Europe. Also, everybody forgets that peace treaty with Prussia was not just “ oh God I love you Freiderick, there is white peace” but included Prussian obligation to help Russia in a war for Slesvig-Holstein( that means controlling almost all of baltic trade) and in a war for Swedish succession( coz Peter 3 had a claim on their throne) but it didn’t came to life, and coz he was literally killed by his wife, she did big job in vilification of his legacy so 300 years after some r&tards would call him the worst tsar of Russia, history is written by the winners
@ZlewikkTV3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment man! I'm aware of that, you can just call it oversimplified
@aldbgbnkladg3 жыл бұрын
Ok, still... didn't Peter 3 more German than Russian? Meaning Slesvig-Holstein was more a concern to him than the rest of his realm. I base that assumption on Extra History's series on Catherine the Great. Worth viewing :)

true, dead Prussia means stronger Austria and Poland, it will not benefit Russia at all, plus Peter iii of Russia is protestant germans from Honstein, north Germany, remember protestant view Austria at that time is like what we view Hitler today, no one forget about Austria atrocities and inquisition during 30 years war.
@Ihatechoosingnames2423 жыл бұрын
@@aldbgbnkladg Catherine the great was also german like a lot of nobility at the time. Nation states are an really modern invention and werent important at the time so the ethnicity of the ruler was irrelevant as long as the nobility supported them. That Sleswig-Holstein was more of an concern than russia is a straight up lie by extra history, yes he wanted to conquer parts of it with russian troops he had a claim on but that was really common and nothing special because the duchy then would become his and be in a personal union with russia. He also did care about russia and was in the process of doing very liberal reforms like no more torture, a tax for the rich, abolition of serfdom, freedom of religion and public trials, but these reforms were very unpopular with the nobility so they supported his wife. Something about extra history while they're videos are entertaining, I wouldnt use them as historical fact they are far from it and they ignore stuff that makes their protagonists look bad like in their bismarck series they say he is such a great politician but ignore failures like the "Kulturkampf" or the "Sozialistengesetze" and ignore that bismarck basically was a dictator of an surveillance state like not explaining what the quote "Not through speeches and majority decisions will the great questions of the day be decided-that was the great mistake of 1848 and 1849-but by iron and blood" actually means
