Hi my husband has the same motor but the motor doesn't spit water is something wrong with the motor?
@Festyxr44 жыл бұрын
Salud Arias yes something is wrong, down in the lower shaft is something called an impeller which pump water through to cool it, u will have to take it somewhere to get fixed. I would not recommend running it if it doesn’t pump water

It will blow up if you run it like that.

Is this full speed in this video? I was not sure if it was 80-90% or 100%. How fast does it go with full throttle? Would you recommend this motor or rather choose another like aTohatsu/Mercury or Honda?
@halldorstolt22956 жыл бұрын
No, it's approx 3/4 of full throttle when in plane. Top speed around 14-16 knots. No idea when compared to other marks. This one is convinient to handle and lay down (even though all 4-strokes are heavy)

Hi J R- After years of racing Yamaha's, Honda's and Suzuki's; I am hands down a repeat Yamaha customer. From motorcycles to outboards to generators I buy blue. I used to rebuild small engines and while the other manufactures made a good product, Yamaha always pushed the technology envelope, and does more with less while maintaining efficiency and emissions. That being said, after owning about 20 products with 1,000cc's or less; I would ALWAYS recommend buying the brand that will be serviceable near your location. If your dinghy motor travels with you, Yamaha has more service techs worldwide than even Honda, Volvo, or Yanmar. ...I wish I got paid for Yamaha plugs...but yeah, they're that good.

Go with a Suzuki 9.9 EFI, no carb issues, very quiet and under 100lbs..
