That was the video that lead me to find your channel! I didn’t work at big 4 but I worked at a large international public accountant firm and I was so miserable. I found your video while I was having a crisis debating whether or not to quit my job after a year there and it gave me reassurance that others have gone through the same thing and that I wasn’t a failure for wanting to leave. I’m so glad I listened to my intuition and left because a month after I quit a started a new job that I’m still at today and I am so much happier!! I don’t stress about work 24/7 like I used to and have time to myself again. I was resentful at first when I left but looking back I’m also at peace with it and I realized I learned a lot of life lessons while there. I will always listen to my intuition from now on.

I recently quit my job after having covid. The job offered no benefits snd my boss didn’t keep his word about raising my pay after my evaluation nor did I get paid while I was sick with covid. I was thankful to keep my job but when I got back to work things weren’t the same. He was threatening and nasty and when I approached the situation, he laughed in my face so I left.

Hey Zoe! I don't normally write to people here but this time I genuinely felt the need to share with you my story :)...I did found you a year ago because of your big 4 consulting video and I must tell you that I was in the exact same situation as yours, I remember listening to you and not believing that someone else on the other side of the world was feeling in the exact same way I was, I was miserable, totally feeling like I had to beg for a project and being surrounded by a completely toxic situation and I must say that your video and the one you did with your dad (I still remember it) helped me so much with my decision of quitting. since then I went through rough times with pandemic and unemployment but right now I'm in a much better place, fighting every day with impostor syndrome and trying not to let my job define me, just as you are describing here. I feel really related to you and all your transition, I did feel like I broke up a really toxic relationship and I'm still in the healing process but oh boy! it was the best decision ever, thank you for sharing it, ... ahh and PS: I also find Linkedin soooo toxic, I do post there but not to brag about how amazing my company is, I just like to share interesting material that someone in my field must enjoy as well, thank you again and I send you a big hug! ...Aura.

@16:15 spoiler alert! I work for a global professional service firm and I have audited clients where every personnel (same years of experience as me) is paid double than I am as a second-year associate. So safe to say Big 4 is necessary not "the place" if one is to find a job that pays well to associates. Not to mention the ridiculously long hours and the ever-existing realization that nothing is ever good enough. :-P

Life is all about learning and understanding who you really are. Tears you shed are ways that heal you, sleepless nights are nights when God is closer to you, so don't stress about any choice you make. It's not easy living in the big world and everyone is gonna be expose to the things it has to offer. Finding the right work place that fits with your big vision is important for your heart to beat steady. You shouldn't dread your career. Have a vision, think big, ignore the nay sayers, work your ass off, and give back to your community🌟.

This phenomenon is the unfortunate negative toll that unfettered capitalism has on the workers. The capitalist class/elites have made a concerted effort to systematically exploit the working class. They effectively got rid of the majority of worker unions, socialist leaning policies, any parties left of the democratic party (alot of people don't realize that the democratic party is ideologically center right on the political spectrum), and pushed pro-capitalist/anti-socialist propaganda. All of this collectively amounted to the working class being corporate slaves which resulted in the deterioration of the mental health in the working class. These problems can be fixed but our political system is unfortunately garbage and is working against the interest of the majority of us due to politicians that are bought by corporate lobbyists. I think that millennials are collectively beginning to understand the economical and political shitstorm that we inherited from the same older generation that ironically calls us lazy for not achieving the same level of success. They ignorantly say this while ignoring the fact that they drastically benefited from government support, a cheaper market, and better wages when compared to the standard of living.
