zoe, i have had anxiety since i was 12 and flying was always completely off the cards for years. the thought of an airport and being trapped in a plane was my worst nightmare but here i am 7 years later and i have just gotten back from italy! it’s always so much worse in our heads and in reality, i actually ended up enjoying myself, watching a couple of films and having a great selection of snacks from duty free! think of all the things you have conquered over the years that 12 year old Zoe would be proud of! you have got this!! have the best time and we can’t wait to hear all about your trip when you’re back xx

You should rewatch the vlog where you spoke about how good the flight was, I vaguely remember one. That might bring back the feeling of knowing it will be fine. With age I've got more and more nervous when flying and 2 tips that kindof help me was someone said nerves is the same in the brain as excitement so tell yourself you're so excited for the trip and the destination. And the other was that air is like water and how boats ride the water wave the plane rides the air wave so its normal to go up and down and turbulence is normal and okay its just riding the wave

Zoe! I recently had quite a few flights after not flying for years as well and here are some things I found that helped me and my anxiety :D -getting good sleep the day before -prepping EVERYTHING ahead of time and getting to the airport extra early, like ridiculously early. Adding the mental stress of being late is a sure fire way to get the heart racing and get the anxiety triggered. It’s so nice to know you have all the time in the world. Rushing around is my anxieties ENEMY! -comfy clothes! Comfort items! A fidget toy of your own :) I bring a very tiny slinky and it reminds me as long as my hands are busy, I’m still okay. -water, headphones, chewing gum. -this is hard to explain, but I also keep my eyes focused on my phone or the people I’m with instead of people watching or looking around. I’ve found that darting my eyes around or watching other people starts to stress me out and visually overstimulate my senses so I stay focused on myself instead of letting strangers being loud or something make me feel anxious. -ask your loved ones to distract you or make you laugh. I NEVER regret telling my loved ones when I’m feeling anxious, because the relief of knowing that someone knows to look out for me helps me a lot, and they always do a great job of distracting me and making me laugh even when I feel like I can’t breathe. :) My anxiety manifests in a really physical way and it gets to be so scary! Take deep slow breaths and remember you’ve done this before and you are in no danger. I tell myself it’s just my caveman brain trying to protect me and the wires got a bit crossed 😂 sending you safe travel vibes. Thank you so much for Vlogust we will miss you lots 🥹

So happy to hear you talking about template and Filmm. I’ve had an annual subscription since the beginning of last year and let me tell you - I always use template for stories, but IF YOURE A MUM WHO TAKES A BILLION PICTURES OF YOUR CHILD then Filmm is the app for you. At the end of every month I go through my photos and videos of the month and I create a compilation video of my daughter for that month. It helps me stay so organised (I know you all have twenty photos of the same moment hoping to catch your little ones smile) and precious memories aren’t getting lost in the mess of a camera roll.

7 minutes in & just wanna comment now & say you could never be a bad parent! I went on holiday last year with my nieces for the first time, i have a panic disorder & i have bad anxiety & also struggle with airports & flying. And although my nieces are older(15,10 & 6 at the time of the holiday) my 6 year old niece sat with me on the plane, she distracted me & because i was so focused on her i felt fine. I mean it did also help that she understands that i struggle with certain things & she brought me a teddy for the plane 🥹 Whether you panic or not, if you struggle, have a wobble or a full meltdown just know you are not a bad parent & please try to not think that you are because that might make you feel worse & actually trigger a panic attack! I know its easier said than done. You’ll do great. Enjoy yourself ❤❤

I never normally comment but I loved that Vlog!! You, Alfie and Mark!! and let me tell you that as a fellow anxiety ridden traveller/emetophobia sufferer, I found that having my daughter definitely provided the distraction to improve my symptoms greatly, your love and care for them overrides your own thoughts AND I now CRUISE!!!!! I have done 3 and have a 4th booked early next year, it's such an easy check-in/travel process that half the anxiety disappears before you set off!! I hope your holiday travel is much better for you and that all goes well and you have a wonderful time with your lovely family. I will have my fingers crossed for you!!!

Have a look at the keep em quiet bags for Ottie on the plane, they are great! Also in terms of flying anxiety, I am also not great but I find when I fly with my kids I’m better because I don’t want them to see me feeling anxious so they are a great distraction! ❤

Truly I’ve never known someone who has such similar anxiety to mine! I have a 5 and 2 year old and I’ve 1000% found that when I’m having a moment of anxiety when traveling I just zone in on my kids and tell myself that regardless of how I’m feeling my brain can override that to put my kids first. So focus on Ottie and there’s nothing more to worry about! Put all your energy to keeping her happy/safe/in the moment. 💕

My friend said that having a toddler with her DEFINITELY helped with flying anxiety for her! She normally has to take medication etc. and did it without because she was breastfeeding still and she was fine 😊

I saw Honor Among Thieves in the theater and coming from someone who likes dnd: it was phenomenal. So many cool easter eggs and the story goes off the rails nearly immediately (as it should). Vlogust has been lovely to have on while I crochet, I'm nearly done with a blanket in my cousin's college colors. All I need to do is wash the pieces (granny squares and triangles) and put them together, so she'll have it before it starts cooling down

Hi zoe ❤ I’m also terrified of flying and used to have panic attacks in the airport and on the plane 😅. I’m not sure if you’re anxious about the actual flying or the social aspect, maybe both. I personally am scared of being in the air. One thing I found which helped slightly ease my anxiety was to educate myself on plane crashes 😂. It sounds counter intuitive but it really helped me. Learning that there’s no plane crashes because of turbulence and that planes can’t just fall out of the sky because there’s too much pressure from below. Also there’s only 1 crash in 16.7 million flights. I don’t know if any of this helps but it helped me with my fear of being in the air. All the best for your travels and remember to be kind to yourself ❤

We did Singapore with an 18 month old last month - it was absolutely fine! You can't have too many plane activities: snacks, books, reusable sticker books, water wow colouring were the top toys and also came to restaurants! Saved Disney movies for take off and landing so the novelty was still there while the seatbelt sign was on. At the pool she loved a bucket, rain shovel and figures. Life jacket and jelly shoes are ideal. Have the best time💖

Watching the flight attendants help me. It’s their job, they fly countless times a week and just watching then passing drinks like flying is completely normal and nothing to be scared about is reassuring. Plus looking at stats of how safe it is is EXTREMELY reassuring. Something wild like having to fly everyday of 100,000 days before you are likely to get injured and even then it would be like a baggage fell out of the bin causing injury and not fatal all at.
