Yesterday, when the Rav streamed this video, I recorded my song "The Long Path", where I sing, "I took the long path, for good; i know the way back, i could; now i have this armor, thats faith; i found her, waiting; beyond the dragon." -- So I'm gladdened to see this headline from the Rav was happening at the same time. Hashem's ways are mysterious.

Usually it has to do with the instinctual life -- symbolized by the snake -- wanting to approach the conscious mind. The form of the snake is very foreign and archaic to the the conscious life, therefore it is worth analyzing where in a distant and deeply not yet felt way, the instinctual life may be yet to be brought into life. Examples: walking in a field; playing with a ball; swimming in a lake.

Can someone explain why the ashkanazi say somech where a tet or tavern belongs? Doesn't this distort gimatria?
