This episode has so many great moments. Fry's illnesses and Zoidberg's attempted murder montage are the highlights, but there's really something to be said about how strong and touching Zoidberg and the Professor's friendship is.

Funny how it's only being addressed now that Zoidberg specializes in aliens. That was the original premise of his character - since McCoy from Star Trek often operates on aliens whose physiology he doesn't know, the Futurama writers wondered how humans would feel about being in a similar situation. Incidentally, Zapp and Kif were born from similar Star Trek questions, namely "What if Shatner, not Kirk, was a starship captain?" and "What if Spock utterly despised Kirk?"

Zoidberg has spare organs, so it's not a surprise that he thinks humans do. Remember the episode when he went back in time and was part of the Roswell alien autopsy.

"is this one of those yes means no deals?" "yes and no" something someone pointed out is that zoidberg is the punching bag and walking joke to everyone... EXCEPT the characters who already treat everybody else that way. mom and robot santa BOTH respect him as a person,.... despite not respecting people at all.

In the Roswell episode it shows zoidberg having 3 hearts and being able to live without an organ that he forgot to put back in his body

Presumably, Zoidberg *was* taking antimalarial medicine explaining why he was unaffected - although I suppose it's also possible his species isn't a suitable host for the parasite. As far as Zoidberg's age, while often exaggerated in pop culture lobsters can be quite long-lived under ideal circumstances. The cyanide is probably symbolic so everyone contributes to the professor's euthanasia

Fun fact, a euthanasia rollercoaster was actually designed back in 2010. The principle was that the riders would die from the G-force while experiencing roller-coaster induced euphoria. To my knowledge, it has yet to be implemented.

Something like that could certainly have some interesting application for either death penalties, or mercy killings. Inducing a level of thrill during death that might make it possibly more humane than other methods.

Even if he's only an expert on alien biology, it makes sense he's still capable of some capability with human biology. Zoidberg is clearly knowledgeable about multiple species, outside of humans for the comedy, so I imagine there's aspects of human biology that presents similar to one or various orher species. It may legit just be that Zoidberg has so much knowledge already that the human biology knowledge doesn't stick. Hell, maybe humans are so simple in comparison that he just does too much.
