Thank you for talking about this. Especially when abuse is in the “grey zone”, where it is not apparent for everyone that it is completely wrong, it is so hard to talk about. My guitar teacher that I had since I was 14 started grooming me. When I got 18 he immediately moved to becoming sexual with me. He never broke a law. I never said no. But he was twice my age. I felt honoured in a way that I was an “old soul” for him and felt so “grown up”. My parents didnt intervene, they liked him. I never wanted sex, but my mom told me that I would have to have it when I wanted to have kids one day. I felt under pressure to comply with expectations. Now, many years later, I am out and proud as a lesbian and have a girlfriend! ❤

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry that happened. We really need to have NO tolerance for predators in our communities regardless of their affiliation or how well we know (we think) we know them.

I feel every single word you're singing down to my core, especially 'where are all the grown ups growing up' - I was SA'd by my aunts bf at age 3 with my extended family in the same damn room, so yeah where were all the grown ups? I had to grow up to protect myself. I'm in tears. Sending you so many good, loving, and healing vibes. 😭

Crying my eyes out while screaming the lyrics of this song rn Even when I saw just a chorus part on the Instagram I got goosebumps and tears because of all the bad memories coming back. Later I thought I would be mentally prepared for this song coming out, though I’M DEFINITELY NOT It’s breaking my heart over and over again and I’m getting angry understanding that such an experience is sadly too relatable for too many young people. I hope all of us will find healing one day ❤️🩹 Please, don’t be afraid to talk aloud about this shіt, all of those grown up аsshоlеs did this only because they feel their complete impunity!!! Thank you, Zoe ❤️

This is heartbreaking, Zoe. You're such a strong and beautiful person. You're so brave to share this with the world. This song is going to heal people as they listen to it, help people who never had the words to say what they wanted to, and people who were never listened to or believed. Thank you, Zoe. This song is extremely needed. 🤍 🤍 🤍

This hit really hard.. it can be difficult to even talk about and get validation for especially in what I went through where I was really young, the person was 3 years younger, and I gave in after being asked so many times. I hope everyone can get validation and know that I’ll always be on your side no matter the circumstances ❤

Zolita, I just wanted to say that it's ok if you are still processing what happened. Everyone needs time and it's ok to reach out to others for help or assistance. I think it's good that you wrote a song about what happened. I hope that it helped you and that it will raise awareness. All of us are proud of you and we hope that you will continue to heal from this ❤

Well this absolutely destroyed me. I mean, in a good way because same, where the FUCK were the grownups when we needed them. I was 12 and no one noticed. It's validating and also horrifying to realize so many of us had the same experiences. We need to do better for the coming generation. Thank you for being so open with your music and your experiences, it really does help.
