I noticed a difference the first few days on Zoloft. Gradually increasing the dose, and I've felt a little better each time. Makes me wonder exactly how "good" I should feel. Should I increase again? Dunno. After taking it a few months, I'm finally able to get more done around the house, and a hard day at the hospital isn't as stressful, and any time a stressful situation with my daughter comes up, the feeling of doom only lasts 30 minutes or so (which is a tremendous change, because it used to linger for days or even a week before I'd stop feeling on-edge).

I understand that feeling of doom -- I'm glad it's gotten better! Thanks too for sharing your experience with this medication. I think the more open people are about their experiences, the more likely others are to get help if they need it. Thanks again! ☺️

@Somnath Routray decreased libido supposedly. I haven't noticed a difference, personally, but that is a common side effect of most SSRIs. There are risks with anything, but also benefits. If the risks of NOT taking the medication are greater, then your answer is clear.

@@thetruth2001 To be honest, I keep completely forgetting to take the medication. I've been on and off and on and off. Still on the 100mg daily officially, but I haven't taken it in weeks. So I guess the biggest side effect for me has proven to be forgetfulness.

Honestly you're making me feel so much better today. I quit taking my Zoloft 3 months ago due to insurance issues. Started back this week and I've been so tired and nauseous, I'm hoping it will wear off in a few days once my body adjusts. And goodness the migraine I had today was one to rival all of my migraines I've ever had.

Please research Robert Whitaker before taking any antidepressant medication. He was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in his work on the subject. Antidepressants can work up to three or four years and then you’re worse off than you were and dependent on medication and now with side effects. His evidence based medicine research is world renowned and published. He has two books. ‘Anatomy of an epidemic’, and ‘mad in America’. Please read and be informed before doing this to your brain and body.

My side effects were being very fatigued, heart palpitations, headaches, and from time to time diarrhea. Though the 50mg Zoloft helped tremendously, my doctor didn't like the side effects so she switched me to 10mg Escitalopráms. Only side effects from these are headaches from time to time and fatigue.

Zoloft made my palpitations go away. Strange. I had gone to a cardiologist, wore a Holter monitor for 30 days, and even had a stress test. All negative. I rarely feel palpitations now.

Headaches, nausea, diarrhea, insomnia, jitters, fatigue and sexual dysfunction including reduced arousal and inability to orgasm. Higher doses can obliterate sex drive completely. Increased anxiety initially also.

@@thetruth2001 I only notice the sexual ones past 50mg. You can get these even when at lower doses. Starting these drugs can be tough and I think sometimes doctors start at too high of a dose and ramp up too quickly. I am not a doctor though but case reports of people responding to low doses are there. The drugs can be highly effective but the side effects can be tough also. Some do not go away.

I was on 60 mg of Prozac for about three years it was ok . zero side effects but just seamed lacking. Now I'm going to Zoloft 50 mg soon and hope it works better than the Prozac did . PTSD is really hard to deal with especially without a support system. Thanks for the video. And keep doing them they help others more than you know.

Same here. Prozac did "something" but not like zoloft did. I'm going back on zoloft again next week, since not being on any med for my mental health since May. A little nervous but I know it's something I'm doing for the better.

I couldn't hold myself up and passed out every time I tried to walk. I am doing extremely better not taking any medications although my anxiety is back. Zoloft never helped my depression but for the short while it helped my anxiety

I’ve been Zoloft 100mg for almost 10 months and not only I gained weight but it’s making me tired, dizzy and lethargic all day long. And definitely loss of sexual interest. I told my doctor that I want to taper it down and stop it, but he said if u stop it you’ll have more side effects and your depression will come right back 😫 I don’t know what to do now. Any advice?

Did he suggest any other antidepressant medication? Or maybe a lower dose? I feel like he should give you more options, but this is just a thought from someone who is not a mental health professional, however, it wouldn't hurt to ask. Hope this helps and wishing you nothing but the best!

I think you’re quite lucky with your experiences compared to me. I put on 60 kgs which is 132 pounds, lost all libido completely, sweat profusely and it makes me stink also even after I shower, and I still feel depressed and anxious and have ocd. I take 150mg sertaline now which is the highest I’ve ever taken. It’s awful. Feel always slow, tired, no energy, like a big fat blob

I’ve just been prescribed 50 mg of sertraline (Zoloft) and I’ve been staring at the bottle for 2 months. I have been dx with PMDD with my main symptom being anxiety. I am feeling fear about the side effects . I have stomach issues already ( not sure if it’s a part of my anxiety or what) but what I worry about is more stomach issues. Also, I’m confused as to what time of day to take this. I have a friend who takes it and she takes it in the morning because it gives her energy but my doc prescribed for evening because he said it could make me drowsy. I’m confused and not sure what to do. Finally, I do enjoy a glass of wine or some drinks every so often so is this going to interact badly with times I go out for a drink? Appreciate some insight here please!
