An adult or teenager can probably make the recorder sound decent just a few weeks after starting from having no wind instrument experience Its easy to learn, it's just not an easy thing to teach to like 30 small children Imo schools should use malodicas bc theyre still cheap, easier to play and can teach the kids notes on a keyboard

What is this small cute flute called profesionally and is it expensive?

The black one is piccolo flute, they are usually quite expensive because the good instruments are made of special wood. But there are also plastic or metal versions, but they have a worse sound and don't tune very well.

I've been wanting to see exactly this. The official channel showed a preview listening movie of the orchestra recording the soundtrack back in December. But they didn't show the flutes for the flute solo (link if interested kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmm6ZKmOoauVr9U ). Evan Call said they're doing a live show for the soundtrack sometime in the summer so I'd been waiting for that. But you delivered much sooner!
