Ok, let me explain, The amount of food you see on the Zomato is listed by the restaurant not Zomato, hence the price is not controlled by zomato, now the GST, im not sure about all rules but considering you're ordering it online it somehow attracts 18% instead of 5%, this again is compliant with the GST norms nothing to do with Zomato. When you order something online you're paying premium for the convenience, its same as boild egg cost in 10s at some place but 100s at 5star hotel, its the ambience for which you pay, here its convenience is what you pay for. PS: if you can directly goto restaurant the food itself will always be cheaper. :)

You are absolutely right but here I just want to say that ZOMATO is already changing too much from restaurants for deliver their food to their customer and as customer we are paying the exact amount to the zomato including gst and all charges why delivery charges we pay then. Zomato to apna commission restaurant se le hi raha hai or restaurant bhi apne items ke double rate karke humse paisa le rahe hain uske baad delivery partner fee bhi humaare bill me add hoti hai or aaj Kal festival season platform fee bhi bill me koi add Kar rakhi hai ye kyon pay Karen hum

@@rrvtalkies Again for the convenience, lets take an example, if you want food from 5km away, either you go there by bike which will cost around 50-60rs in petrol, plus you've to make that trip to the restaurant, in summer/winter, and you'll save 50rs (considering restaurant is charging extra), but now people want convenience, they want the food to come to them so they dont have leave their comfort zone, and we have to pay for that, its same as a train has general coaches which cost 30% of the reservation, you can make the trip with 30% of cost but you'll losse the convenience, now its upto us that what can we afford in the name of convenience, if people stop using zomato, they'll have to decrease the prices but Zomato will become loss making company again, so this is very broad economics of supply- demand. PS: Zomato is a platform they have to pay their employees/ services/ servers etc to make platform work, they'll have to charge us to survive. 100s if not 1000s people work in zomato, if they dont charge extra the company will go under.

restaurants are also get charged to Zomato, so they use to increase the product prise, ultimatly it's the customer who will pay to zomato, directly or indirectly

Even yesterday I went to one restaurant the price their was 130 when I checked in zomato Swiggy the same item cost was 190 on top of the delivery charges tax handling fee etc it was 292 😲
