I missed getting the Kickstarter so I didn't get the AbomiRat. so what I did was proxy it with a rat zombie from reaper minis. looks really cool.

They have some nice minis. I got lucky recently and a friend gave me the KS abominations when he quit the game.

I don't think that players should choose which direction an abomination should go, it should be determined by die roll.

ive just got into tabletop/miniature gaming (since to coo lockdown) & gutted ive missed out on these sets. So hard to find now :/ I've amassed a fair collection of armys (from runewars to judge dredd & mars attacks), board games (from gekido to Cthulhu DMD) & other games (not to mention made a spray "booth"/man shed XD )

Vamireon DarkBlade that would be great. I saw your comment to Lucas below with your suggestions. I can tell you so far for my initial buy in I am looking in addition to the core set in getting the abomination pack and the Marc Simonetti guest pack. The reason for the guest pack is I am playing with my wife and two daughters 10 and 13 and there are three additional female characters in it one being a magic user lol not really strategic but a practical thing. I would also like to get one of the NPC packs like you suggested. Interested in your thoughts cheers

My daughter is only 2, but I can't wait to teacher her to play board games! Not sure how much you are looking to spend, but I would definitely start with the core, zombies bosses (to make things interesting, but you may want to run just one or 2 bosses each mission) and either NPC box (helps stop the extra walker activations / brings in more artifacts and adds a cool side question component). Past that the other NPC box (this will add more artifacts, but I recommend not added the spawn cards from the extra box). The archers are cool, but the game is fine without them. With that covered you should get just the guest boxes you plan to use. My thoughts about which boxes have cool female heroes.... (Paul Bonner 1 girl, Genevieve 2 damage archer!), Stefan Kopinski (1 girl, Ysabel starts with an axe for opening doors and allows you to have 2 starting weapons on another character!!), (Naiade 1 girl Meriel she has +1 die combat in blue making her a female clovis, she is super well rounded and can do well with spells, melee and ranged well (I now consider her a must)!!), (Gipi 2 girls, the main one that is super cool is Celia La Santa she starts wtih healing and is good with melee, the box also comes with donna, but she starts at +1 melee and am not a fan of that), (Marc Simonetti is great too giving 2 cool girls, one archer with a great model and a healer that can discard bad searches!) I actually have or will be getting more boxes this weekend (I am behind on reviews =) ), so if you want to know about any other box I can likely make a review video for it or look up all the contents and give you my thoughts. It is great you are getting to share this hobby with your family! Thanks for watching and for commenting!

Also I noticed there is a Howe guest pack which isn't released yet unless you got it via Kickstarter. Not sure if you have that one? I will try to get a npc video out this weekend that covers npc box 1, 2 and the KS npcs. It will likely be Monday or Tuesday before I can do the guest box, a friend has the guy from that box and I will need to borrow it first.

What I don't like about the Troll is that it works exactly like the Wulf Abomination - only better because he can only be killed by Dragonfire (so no Vampiric Crossbow) - and he has 2 activation cards more (4 when compared to the 2 of the Wulf Abomination). To give him "only" 2 activations would give the Wulf Abomination more space to shine. So it's totally outclassed. I guess I would houserule it this way.

He does feel like a Wulf Abom, but I feel they both still shine. I find the troll easier to avoid, but harder to kill. If you can stay out of the trolls LoS he moves really slow.

Oh, you're right. Didn't realize this difference which has a huge impact. The other abominations feel still more innovative and different but I will give this guy a try.

We played with all three bosses (and all their cards in the deck) and it actually seemed to make it easy because of how many 0 spawns we would get in blue phase.

I totally agree. I have tired 2 differenet approaches. The first is playing only 1 of each boss card. This works well, but takes out the possiblity of double activations. The second is leveling up as fast as possible to limit the free rooms. I had to play really strong characters when using this aporoach. You could try waiting to mix in the bosses until you reach yellow.

I was thinking either: - Take the cards out but use them as a separate deck to translate an abomination result on standard invasion card to the new bosses. or - Put one of each card (3 total) in the deck and once one is on the table the other two cards just count as activations until he's dead. So you only ever have one at a time but he is hopefully a bit deadly without seeding the deck with blanks for the blue phase.

I like the 2nd aporoach more. That way you can have the normal one and 1 special out at the same time. Any single abomination is too easy to kite.

i got the base game black plague and 5 extra survivers and its hard, i found out the skills and watched so reviews and see i need some strenth, troy and evil troy becouse i love evil dead, and gowan becouse hes the high lander. james sean connery.gregoire becouse plus one melee damge beast. xuxu and piper on the way. and 2 new boards to play them with, 8 figures on feild with beat back the zombie horde.

I finding the game is a lot harder with the bosses. And wow thats a large team! Are you playing with friends or soloing it?

solo my freinds work so we dont play most weekends. im stuck on the comersry mission 5. with 6 guys. its super hard, clovis kills everything and at exp 40 none of the others can keep up, melee is the best by the time im done i got just clovis left and with out back up he dies.i need stronger weapons of skills, them necromancers are so bad run in hide behind a wall of runners and you cant get him, all most all 60 zombies on the board game over man its game over. that healing spell is great but its hard to find, james plus torch = make it rain.

First off my video for that mission was actually a fail. I did not know everyone had to live, due to wording of all surviours vs other missions with all starting surviors. I think a big part of these missions is controlling who gets xp and when to let the team level up. Are you using any bosses or just core enemies? Also are you using any of the npc boxes?

just core for now, im getting the npc box 1, as your vid shows the sheild is beast.and yes exp is major important if just one hero gos over its game over for everyone. and i just beat the comersery today with major tactics.gowan and samson together hound armour and a daggar made world of pain for the zombies and with james having spells no need for baldric.no abomb in sight till the very last second and we made it.

4 spawning cards each is a bit much. If I would play I would only use 1 spawn card each

I find it works really well with 4. It gives you breathing room before you get to yellow and then allows for the unexpected double or tripple move so they can catch you.

Those sets of rules are not intuitive at all. Wheneve we used them I always house rule them : Abominataur : ram survivor at first line of sight into the furtest wall for one damage. Move one zone as other walkers otherwise. Abominatroll: one activation move 2 zones. If encounter a survivor 1 zone away, must stop and pull that survivor into its zone for 1 damage. Abominablob: like Left4dead. Puke on a survivor zone 1 zone away: draw a new zombie card on the nearest zombie spawn and then activate all zombie on the board on time. Melee killing this blob has the same effect. Otherwise, attack and move normaly like basic walker.
