Even then it really depends on when this all happened. Scar got a kill with a tnt minecart earlier in the episode which might've pushed him back above the 16 hr mark and into being a green. This would not have been corrected during the episode due to grian's absence. If he was indeed green he shouldn't have been killing anyone. But there is a fair chance he was still past the 16hr mark.

Impulse already tried the clay trick? I'll have to re-watch that episode, I must have missed it. Didn't it work for clay patches in other biomes, though? Though I suppose digging down from random points in the river or Mean Gills' ocean might be a challenge.
