Zomerwandeling in Oostende

De maand augustus loopt op zijn einde, dus namen we nog eens de trein om een kleine wandeling te gaan maken in het mooie Oostende. En het was er heel druk. Wat wil je op zo een prachtige dag als vandaag.
Oostende is de enige stad aan de Belgische kust. De combinatie van het strand en het stadsleven maken van Oostende een gewilde bestemming in België. Het gros van de toeristen in Oostende komt uit België zelf, maar ook onder Nederlandse, Franse en Britse toeristen is de badplaats vrij populair. De Britten weten Oostende te vinden dankzij de veerverbindingen met Engeland. Voor een deel van de Britse toeristen die over zee naar het Europese vasteland komen is Oostende de eerste plek waar ze terecht komen. Oostende heeft dan ook een levendige uitgaansscene die zich vooral concentreert in de Langestraat, vlak bij het Casino-Kursaal.
Oostende wordt de Koningin der badsteden genoemd.

Eng: The month of August is coming to an end, so we took the train again to go for a little walk in beautiful Ostend. And it was very busy. What do you want on such a beautiful day as today.
Ostend is the only city on the Belgian coast. The combination of the beach and the city life make Ostend a popular destination in Belgium. The majority of tourists in Ostend come from Belgium itself, but the resort is also quite popular with Dutch, French and British tourists. The British know how to find Ostend thanks to the ferry connections with England. For some of the British tourists who come to mainland Europe by sea, Ostend is their first port of call. Ostend therefore has a lively nightlife scene that is mainly concentrated in the Langestraat, close to the Casino-Kursaal.
Ostend is called the Queen of seaside resorts.
