Zoologist Camel - real world fragrance review

I put together a few samples, loved them all; Bee, Moth, T Rex, Camel, Rabbit. Maybe in that order, but I don't know for sure yet. This is another excellent rundown, as we've come to expect from you.

Another great review Dan. Was my fav from the brand for the longest time until Bee came along. They share the top spot now. 😄 Strange about the longevity though. Mine always lasted a good 9 hours. 😵‍💫

I'm interested in this one, but i need to try the rest of the brand, lol! Only got to try a couple at scent bar... Im looking forward to getting my hands on King Cobra, sounds so earthy and petrichor-like.

@@ethanrrs yes, King Cobra is on my list too, sounds really cool 😎 The strength of this brand is in the whole vision of it, it passes as weird when looking at the single bottle.

I got a sample of this one with a lot of hope and expectations, first spray, directly reminded me when I was 10 and I went to a market with my dad in Guelmim, in the South of Morocco where they buy/sell camels, I even forgot I had that memory in the back of my head. It smells exactly like a camel, kudos to Zoologist for the art part, but I don’t think I can wear this in public or under any circumstances.

@@SeldomlyOften you are 100% correct ! I live in Sweden, people already look at me weird when I wear Jubilation XXV or L’air du Desert Marocain haha .. I will retry the sample during winter, hopefully 🙏🏽 !

Camel was my first animalic perfume. The dates+ the animalic notes…to die for. I live in Germany and I can never find any Zoologist because of the same thing….super annoying. Bee is also suuuuper nice… the honey, the wax….I love the concept of this brand. Rex is a monster ❤. My favourite animalic perfume is Lover’s tale from F. Bianchi…Without Camel, I would most probably never get to smell LT.

Love Zoologist favourite one Sacred Scarab by Sultan Pasha, 2nd Rhyno 2020 by Prin, I'm also sad the bottles will change..

Love this one but as you said its performance isn’t very good. I do find Luxor by Xerjoff quite similar and performs better too.

Camel is probably my second favourite from Zoologist. It reminds me a bit of its perfumer’s other work but it’s still very beautiful. And as you mentioned longevity is rather disappointing:(

@@Kylinmere yeah it’s really great, too bad about the longevity. I’m not really even sure what the issue is, these types of scents usually last a long time.

@@SeldomlyOften I’ve been scratching my head about poor longevity too. Similar fragrance by the same perfumer (different house) has the same weak performance though the scent itself is gorgeous. Bummer:(

@@Nojii1 its quite different from African Leather meaning that it wears less like a perfume and more like an experience. If you can see this as an occasional ‘experience’ type thing, then yes, you will definitely like it 😉

You said you also have hyrax. I dont understand how some people get the fecal smell(me included) and some not. I dont think it os about the accommodation to animalic smells but more about our nose receptors.

@@bombel2297 Yeah I have it and I’m totally thinking the same! I know some people that think that Hyrax (among others) has the smell of a dirty portapotty and other (me included) that think it’s totally fine. So weird! I get a pungent pissy smell and a strong pheromone type thing but no poop at all.
