My father is Nigerian, but he went to Greece to attend university in Athens. He had to sell goods on the streets in other to support himself and he can relate to Giannis‘ story. Now we live in Germany and lack nothing, but we visit Athens often. I am so proud of Giannis and the joy I feel as I see him succeed is as if it were my own success. Wish him and his family nothing but the best, nothing but success, health, wealth and blessings on blessings on blessings.

Παναγιώτης Κράνιας he had to learn greek once he got there and he would not have been able to continue his studies if his written and spoken language were not proficient enough. There is a big Greek community were I live in Germany and my father, despite being Nigerian, was „adopted“ into the community and loves to spend time in Greek cafes just speaking about sports, food and life in general. Hopefully I can learn at least the basics of the language from him since I love Greece and love to spent time there, but barely speak a handful of words.

@@jimkillerx he is most definetly greek. Colour of your skin does not matter at all. He was born in Greece, he is raised culturally greek. Just like how he is Greek Nigerian I am Canadian Greek. Where I grew up and how I was raised is what defines me even though at home I spoke greek and ate greek meals and celebrated greek culture I went to a Canadian school, had friends from many different backgrounds and work in Canadian businesses. I am most definetly a proud Canadian. The funny part is the people who say he's not greek are not even greek in the first place. Greeks love him.

His color does play a role but it is irrelevant in this case as well, an Irish person born in Greece isn't Greek either. It's not how that works. It's incredibly dishonest to pretend that someone is from a particular country just because he was 'born and raised' there. Very ignorant view. Take a DNA test and you'll see.

Just because they have greek blood doesn't make them culturally greek. It's their environment and upbringing and belief in ideals. Canada provided a great life for me. Im a second generation Canadian. While I speak greek and have a greek upbringing at home i still have Canadian ideals that are instilled with me. This is why I but heads when I go back to Greece for vacation with relatives who are born in raised in Greece. Regardless giannis is greek and trying to take that away from him is the new power play by racists in 2019.

I’m talking about a DNA test, that will show your DNA and where your ancestors originated from. If you truly are Greek, it would also show on your DNA test that you are Greek. I’m not Greek, have no connections to Greece, which means that I’m not Greek. It’s irrelevant if I was born there or not. It would also mean that my future kids would not be Greek even if they were born there (unless the mother is Greek, then perhaps the kids would be half Greek). You can not randomly call yourself German, Spanish, French, Norwegian, Polish unless that is in your DNA and unless you are ethnically from that particular place or country. Besides, how would pointing this out make anyone a racist? How about you actually look up the definition of ’racism’. You are using the word incorrectly, you pathetic parrot.
