Zoom G3n | Comfortably Numb Solo

Pretty impossible to replicate, but here is my attempt.

I made a patch with the Rat > Hiwatt > Vintage Chorus > Tape Echo > Hiwatt cab > Hall, it sounds great. With chorus off you can play Time.

Great sound, great technique. Congrats! What I'd do would be to add some more basses to the tone and maybe use a Tube Screamer as a drive. I once had a TS10 analog pedal and it worked with this solo! I'm waiting for my Zoom to come and as I'll get it I'll try and tell you!

Some gain is missing because I created the patch with an SSL5 in the bridge but recorded the video with stock American Standard bridge pickup. The SSL5 does more or less what you described.

fyi watching on computer, the player controls block the view of some settings. cant see the bass on the amp the volume button is over it

Thanks for your feedback, the bass is 69. If you play the video and move the mouse away from the video the controls disappear.

My advice is simple, play a lot and train your ear. That is a big part for this style, study some theory too.

I don't have that tremolo bar.. So should I increase the sustain value of NYC Muff??

The tremolo bar is only affecting pitch vibrato, if you don't have it's not a problem at all. Increasing the sustain value on the muff will give you more distortion, you may want to tweak it if you have a different guitar or different type of pickups. There is no relation between the whammy bar and pedal gain/distortion.

I never had this issue, what exactly is the problem? If it's only heating I would not worry too much. Maybe try to contact Zoom directly.

André Vicente In thai case I was going for a Gilmour style chain with all the pedals in front of the amp. If you want a cleaner delay tone you can put it after the amp, you may need to adjust the mix. Thanks for watching and commenting! Francesco

If you are using this patch you may need to tweak gain and eq to suit your guitar. This preset was made using a Stratocaster with single coil pickups.

Thank you for this preset mate!! Its absolutely the best preset for solo i have tried on my g3xn. Sounds just awesome. Can you tell me do you have any g3n preset for metal riffs? (metallica, rammstein, etc.). Stock metal paths are not very good. Please respond. Cheers!!!

use the dual rectifier with the TS overdrive before, and some reverb after, switching from vintage to modern on the rectifier is like going from master of puppets to the black album, mess arround with the eq and even sound like pantera

I never tried the g1x four, but as long as the same blocks are available you should be fine with the same settings.

Yeah it works except you have to choose between air or plate reverb since there is one slot less.

All the settings are in the video, you just need to copy all the values and place the effects in the same order (NYC Muff / Delay / HW100 / HW4x12 / Air (only if you play stereo) / Plate)
