The l6 has become my favorite mixer in just the past few weeks. Its works with anything perfectly that support core audio. Pretty sure it works well with asio as well. The size was the real kicker for me, it’s perfect.

So channel 5 is an input from the iPad...and that input *is* the iPad itself, is that right? Really cool.
@krazywabbit23 күн бұрын
@@PaulOrtiz correct. With that blue light on, it’s pulling audio from the iPad.

@ Nice! I'm wondering if I can do the same with any class compliant device and maybe a physical loopback? Outputs to inputs? As long as I'm not monitoring from within Koala I'd avoid feedback. I think.
@krazywabbit23 күн бұрын
@@PaulOrtiz in my testing, it only works with a tablet or computer. I’ve tried hubs and nothing. Even another Zoom L6, nothing. I’ll keep experimenting but right now, that’s what seems to work

My crush on my L-6 has turned into full on infatuation. Best thing I’ve bought in a while. Once you get it set up right, it just becomes the centerpiece of your whole setup

cool video. I'm still thinking the zoom L6 is the best device since the r-16.

I ended up buying this, I wish you could record directly to pads. Also would be cool to have the ability to play all the scenes at the same time

please tell me there's multi I/O in AUM out the box? if so, I'm probably going to buy one... I have a zoom l-8 and its pretty good EXCEPT you CAN'T run it off USB and have it interface :/ you need to run off batteries which is a killer if you plan to use it for performance *sad face* 🙏🙏

USB class compliance is great.. i just need a modern ipad with usbC L6 looks great, ive got a similar size ART mixer that does asio, but it doesnt have a disc recorder... id wager this little mixer is set to become a legendary device.. unless some kind of deadly quirks pop up

Loved the mixer. But it's sad that you need an external device to sample with the iPad.

I have tried the same with my Allan heath xone 96. Koala recognizes the xone but there is no signal coming through the mixer. I have already contacted the Koala developer but unfortunately he couldn’t help me any further. I have tried to record with other apps, such as loopy pro or DJ pro and everything is just working fine. Also with my universal audio interface everything is good. So I assume it can’t be the xone but must be the koala app which has a bug… maybe someone who reads this has a clue how to fix this issue.

sorry i am lost here a little bit... the mixer is doing what in this setup? besides having the mic signal into the ipad, if you don't want to have the mic as an audio source i could just connect headphones to the ipad and sample as you did in the video without the mixer?
@krazywabbit24 күн бұрын
@@jaygilligan the mic was only for the purpose of the video. The mixer acts as an interface to allow the routing of audio from you tube into koala. Something you can’t do on the iPad alone in a way that doesn’t involve an app(that no longer works) or screen record and import.

Is L6 sending MIDI over USB from the MIDI in? I'd love to use external triggers with Koala, but L6 gets upset if it's running through a USB hub, so my I/O is limited.

Very Cool Wabbit! Your videos on the L6 are the best I've seen for real world application with it. I have 2 crazy question for you. Can you use the L6 As an audio interface with your laptop as a way to record audio from your iPad via USBc for a better signal tan just recording audio out of the headphone jack? 2ndly, is it possible to rout midi from the iPad to your computer to control VST's in your DAW with the L6?
@krazywabbit23 күн бұрын
thanks! As I read your first question. I am using the iPad into the Zoom L6 via USB-C and not out of a headphone jack. The use of a laptop would not be needed. Is your question related to an iPad with a headphone jack? I might be misunderstanding your question. 2nd question. You do not need the L6 to do this. Plug your iPad right into your Mac, and use Midi IDAM host. Videos on KZbin to help explain that.
@krazywabbit23 күн бұрын
As I think about your second question, it won't work. The iPad goes into the USB port of the L6. The midi in and out are for hardware. Leaving nothing to go to the computer.
