I think the most amazing, scary, mindblowing, etc. thing is that there is a point in the universe where the light from our solar system has not reached yet, and if the popular theory of universe expansion is correct...it never will. The last remaining atoms of our planet (if atom decay theory is correct) will be completely gone before any evidence of our existence can reach anywhere near this point. I'm glad this planet of ours has so much to offer me that I will never have to worry about such isolation. I'm sure many authors, scientists, philosophers, etc. have said the same thing in many different ways; I'm glad we are not "Smart" enough to completely understand the vastness of the Universe, and I hope I never have to. That's what calms me at the end of it all. My purpose, our purpose, life's purpose, is not to be all, know all, see all. It is just to "Be". Its hard to argue against that. That life's only clear purpose it to simply exist in and experience the Universe, in whatever way that happens to be, such is the freedom and chaos of nature. We can't be everywhere, can't go everywhere, but we're here. Right now. The Universe still as much our home as it is to a speck of dust an inconceivable amount of distance away, so much of its beauty and mysteries left to be uncovered. We're the Universe...looking back at itself.
