Man, I was really hoping there was a way to do that! Thanks so much for the info! As a drummer, it would have been a real pain to get out from behind the kit to check the battery Thanks again!

Though I notice if I plug into a power outlet, I get a hum in the audio, so best bet is to use a power bank.

Thanks brother! Answered my main question, especially since the battery on mine goes fast when I'm recording 4 tracks.
@Guitar101Ramstein4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, though might be my usb cable but I get some hum/noise when plugged into an outlet sometimes, so just have been powering it with a battery pack which also works fine

Fantastic, thanks! Every time I used my Q8, I've suffered Battery Panic, rushing through things before it discharged. I'd always wondered if there was another way (and I feel stupid for not trying that, because every time I've plugged it in up to now, I've plugged it in switched off). Nice one.
@Guitar101Ramstein4 жыл бұрын
yeah, it's helpful to know as the battery life is pretty short, I did experience a little bit of noise/hum a couple times though using it like this, could be the USB cable I used (had a longer one that was old that) or maybe plugged into an outlet that had too much electrical noise.

@@Guitar101Ramstein OK, cheers. I'll experiment a bit with that, but this certainly saves a lot of rushing around to do things before the battery runs out. I must say, it is not made clear anywhere in the instructions as far as I can recall. Have a good New Year.

no problem. Found a replacement battery and charger option too, cheaper than what zoom sells. I will do a review video of it soon as I am done test running it.

Hi. Thanks. Any update? Can it record a 4 hour gig? Subscribed
@Guitar101Ramstein4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, yes it can record as long as you have the memory card capacity for if it is being powered by external source.

I was trying to find an answer for my some what scary situation that just occurred. I was just using the camera this morning and then I went to turn it on and only got a red light and red lights lighting up the line inputs. But the screen didn't come on and I couldn't do anything. My hopes is this is just the way of telling you you need to charge your batteries. Which I'm doing now but looking through the manual and trouble shooting online I wasn't able to quickly find anything. I'm using it to record an album and if it's for some reason dead this is really going to set me back.
@Guitar101Ramstein4 жыл бұрын
Hmm never had that happen with mine, maybe try to see if it needs a firmware update or contact zoom customer support

Are these good enough for gear demos? Be easy to capture audio with the XLR inputs and save a ton of editing.
@Guitar101Ramstein4 жыл бұрын
yeah I have used it for gear reviews, though they excel in audio, depends on what you are looking for in video quality.

Yes and thankfully it works, because the battery that comes with does not give you much recording time to work with.

It will not power on with battery removed, unfortunately
