Thank you for the Teaching💐! I pray I may sit at your feet and receive The Teachings in person and may that time come swiftly.

Delson has a very clear, simple explanation of the Jhanas, both form and formless, as well as a clear explanation of how to reach Nirvana by letting go in the 8th Jhana! It's typically been considered that the Immaterial Jhanas have no practical utility, yet Delson clearly points out that one can use them to reach deeper release and eventually reach total cessation and attain Awakening upon coming out of Nirvana! I'm grateful for your wisdom, and it would be really cool to meet you one day, Delson Armstrong! Namaste🙏

The practice experiment using MN 111 to observe the Jhana factors sounds very intriguing. Perhaps you could post a video of Delson conducting such an exercise as you all practiced it. Thanks.

Indeed that would be a very useful experience.

That would be incredibly helpful! Also could Delson do a weekly live Q&A open to all in the international Dhamma Sukha community instead of just retreat attendees? This would be so helpful to the wider community as well! Sadhu sadhu sadhu!

When Delson mentioned meditating for 4 hrs, etc., Is that a strong determination sit without moving?
@jaredlangson30382 жыл бұрын
It's not really a strong determination. When you're in samadhi you can not move for hours without needing a strong determination.
@jaredlangson30382 жыл бұрын
@@Havasu1976 Yes. I've done a few.

@@Havasu1976 Keeping the five precepts all the time. Combine that with the TWIM method and the 6Rs. There was an older lady who had kept the precepts her whole life but had never meditated. When she started meditating she sat for hours. And if you are just starting to keep the precepts it's natural to have samadhi in the 4th jhana. The more you keep the precepts the easier it is to sit still without needing a strong determination.
