Logan, I started watching this week's drop and found that couldn't comment or give you a "thumbs up." I went back to your KZbin channel. This week you forgot to ask viewers to "subscribe," give you a "thumbs up," or leave you a "comment." As of 2:05 PM Tuesday you have had 7 views and 1 "like," me. I thought you we really good and informative.

Thanks Hal! Looks like you were able to comment - I made a plug about 0:30 into the video but only asked once :) Will think about how I can incorporate that in more!

Thanks for this information, very helpful and clear for Zoom meetings. I am doing a Zoom webinar in 2 weeks and can't find many tips exclusively for spotlighting panelists or content like PowerPoint. Is there a way to spotlight both, says 3 panelists and a box with PP graphics??
@loganclements2 жыл бұрын
Hi Pam, as of right now there is not in Zoom Meeting. Zoom Webinar should have that ability. Now with spotlighting, you can spotlight three people while sharing a slide and the live experience in your Zoom Meeting would be the visual of 3 speakers plus slides. The exception would be for people watching on a tablet or phone - as of right now, Zoom would only show them one speaker at a time with the slides. We're hoping they'll continue to release updates as I've seen more sessions want to have multiple speakers on screen and slides.

Thanks for your video! Soon I will organize a livestream via Zoom with 300 participants. Is there a search function in Zoom to quickly find ánd spotlight one of the participants during the meeting?
@loganclements2 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you've updated your Zoom in the last few months (and I recommend doing it again before your livestream), you will now see a search bar at the top of the participant list when your meeting hits 20+ attendees. I'm not sure the exact number but if you have to scroll through your attendees, the search bar appears. Good luck with your livestream!

Very helpful tip, thank you. As co-host, if I spotlight one or more attendees, how will that affect the Zoom recordings? I currently record the 5 recordings available through zoom (Speaker, Gallery, Shared screen, Text, Audio). Thank you
@loganclements Жыл бұрын
Hi Kaffepojke, great question! When you spotlight, you're controlling speaker view so it'll impact your speaker view recording. If you record to the cloud, you can only capture one speaker talking at a time in speaker view. If you also record locally, you can capture multiple spotlighted speakers at the same time (like a panel discussion). Hope that helps!

Great video! Does Spotlighting speakers behave/show up in the same way when you Facebook Live from Zoom into Facebook?
@loganclements3 жыл бұрын
Hi Reid, it should show up on Facebook Live the same as in Zoom. If you're streaming directly from Zoom to Facebook, you will have the Zoom watermark on your livestream. But to make sure that you're capturing everything you want, I'd suggest doing a test session to make sure you're seeing what you want on Facebook. I've found small tweaks to Zoom's settings and updates can impact what you see on other platforms. Hope this helps!

Has anyone else run into issues with recording on Zoom when a second host starts the recording? I noticed that it goes to the original host's cloud, which makes spotlighting multiple participants like sign language interpreters and the speaker challenging. If a deaf person misses the live meeting, the current setup really doesn’t work well for them. I’m considering using QuickTime to screen record with audio looping as a workaround. We definitely need a solution for our next meetings, as the last recording didn’t capture everything we needed. Any other ideas?

Can you record on spotlight
@loganclements Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can! Recording to the cloud will capture your spotlighting in speaker view (1 person at a time) vs. recording locally will capture multiple spotlights. Here's a video I made on it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJm8dHmeeZ6EqJI

Good video! BUT,,,my problem is I do interviews in Zoom with one other person besides me.. What's happened lately is the video constantly clicks back to me while the speaker is talking..this hasn't happened through 16 interviews...but in the last one it really destroyed my recording...constantly going back to me when I want it only on the speaker. What's happening here? Is it a setting on my mike? Trying to figure it out..but spotlighting won't work because only myself and the guest I'm interviewing are part of the interview.

Maybe you can answer another question I have. Spot lighting is awesome but I have over 100 participants in each meeting. What it find is that i loose all my 4-5 presenters somewhere i cant find them to change the spotlight. Is there a way to keep my main 4-5 presenters on my screen at all times to be able to chose the spotlight I want easily?

Check that you have the most updated version of Zoom: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362233-Upgrading-Zoom-to-the-latest-version
@loganclements3 жыл бұрын
One of the recent updates in the last few months was the ability to search your participant list by name. Before you start spotlighting, you can pin your speakers which will just affect your personal view to put them in the front of the group and then spotlight them as needed. This will only work though if the speakers have their cameras on and don't hop off during your meeting. I've found the searching method on the participant list is the easiest way to find them when you have such a big group

Is it possible to make spotlight in the breakoutrooms?
@loganclements3 жыл бұрын
Hi Marwan, I don't believe that you can. You can still pin in breakouts (which affects your personal view) but I've never used the spotlight function in a breakout room

I notice that "Turn on original sound" is selectable in the upper left corner. If I want to spotlight a viewer's video, then, their audio also becomes spotlighted and the hosts's audio is not heard any longer unless that "Turn on original sound" is selected? What if I want to have everybody muted and their video turned off, like a webinar? Can I make a connection or two "co-hosts" so that their video becomes available to everyone, like a spotlight, while everybody's audio and video is already muted? I'd like to keep the audio the same throughout the meeting, but only be able to switch between video hosts, like a switcher board of different cameras looking at the same thing but from different views.
@loganclements3 жыл бұрын
Hi Berkey Family, these are some great questions. So the "Turn on Original Sound" is a setting for your own audio, it just allows you to turn off Zoom's automatic background noise supression. It's not the same as muting yourself. If you spotlight someone, you would still be able to hear anyone else who is unmuted, but the video wouldn't jump to that person. You can disable the ability for attendees to unmute themselves under "more" in the "Participants" tab once you start a meeting. Anyone who is a host or cohost would be able to unmute themselves still but it would turn off that ability for your audience. For what you're looking for, it sounds like you want to disable the audio on one of your camera feeds, meaning don't even connect to Zoom audio and make sure it's muted so you don't get audio feedback and then you can use the audio from the one camera source and toggl between views by spotlighting them. Does that answer your question?

Fantastic presentation, however when I did this (and it worked) when someone joined late it disrupted the gallery and changed the arrangement. Is that normal or just my luck😬
@loganclements3 жыл бұрын
Hi Maggie, thank you! And yes, unfortunately, as people join your meeting, the gallery view will switch. If you're spotlighting people, you'll be able to control who is being viewed so even if people join late, your spotlight/speaker view will remain the same. Hope that helps!

there is no spotlight feature in my zoom,how can enable it?
@loganclements3 жыл бұрын
Hi GPS Dhani Sham Singh, the spotlight feature only appears if you have at least 3 people in a Zoom meeting or Webinar. Once you have three people, or three devices (ie. your computer and phone could count as 2), then you should be able to spotlight people for your audience!

Hi ETD Support, are you the host of the Zoom meeting? You won't see the option unless you're the host or co-host of the meeting and you have at least 3 people in the Zoom meeting. If you only have 1 or 2 people in the meeting, you will not see the option to spotlight. Hope that helps!

How to spotlight & record just the host/speaker while keeping whole meeting in gallery - nobody else in recording
@loganclements2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lori, you should be able to spotlight the host/speaker and then direct attendees to select "Gallery View" from the view options on the upper right hand side. Unfortunately in Zoom Meeting, as the host, you cannot change everyone's view back to Gallery but I've found dropping a prompt in your chat and/or having your host verbally prompt people to change their view, that will achieve what you're looking for!
