The sound profile of this keeb is just chef’s kiss
Since it was my first Zoom build, I decided to try using all the foam, just to see how it would turn with all the materials provided. You have your typical marbly typing sound from the PE foam, but it’s very satisfying, somewhere between clacky and poppy. Even though I used all the foam, I don’t think the board itself sounds too muted or “foamy”. I really enjoy the clean and clear sound it has. With the additional internal weight, the board feels very heavy and there’s no hollowness at all.
The keyboard isn’t very flexy, I mean there is a bit if you really push it down, but overall the build is pretty stiff.
I definitely recommend Zoom75, if you like a functional 75% layout and want something that’s highly customizable and great sounding! I think it’s great that Meletrix brought us so many options for the top-right corner, and you can very easily change the modules around for a different look or function. The price of this keyboard starts at $179, which also makes it really accessible whilst providing great quality parts. The building experience was very straightforward and easy, so I can definitely recommend it to beginners too.
