This deleted scene has continuity with another deleted and completed scene where a depressed judy returns to her apartment after her long first day as a meter maid and lies to her parents about being a real cop, that's why they're shocked here when they discover she's a meter maid

Now if only Judy had some character beyond "I want to be a *real* cop". I mean, her being a shallow character makes sense, given she was completely changed at least three times during production, but still, they could have given her *something* besides the "rookie in over her head" thing, unless having too much pride for her own good counts.

Yeah your wife right Mr Hopps if Judy wants to date Nick later after the film it's her choice please she might not find another male guy to fall in love with for a very long yearly way while so please give Nick a chance he might become a son figure that you never had and he might make a great brother in law for your other children as well and hopefully if they marry if there's a chance you'll be the grandfather to more hybrid animal children too but still Mrs Hopps is right about your daughter sir and we need to let her decided who she wants to be with indeed so Mrs Hopps is one great mother figure indeed and one hopefully going to a great mother in law figure to Nick if that happens in the Zootopia 2 when it gets released in the cinemas hopefully right guys!
