Fun fact: In the beginning, Judy isn't necessarily being hazed or discriminated against when they assign her to parking duty. Real police departments (at least in the US) often put new officers on parking duty because it's a generally low-risk assignment that familiarizes them with the city layout and traffic patterns. This is usually done with new recruits who are from out of town (like Judy), and often skipped for recruits who are locals or have demonstrated a familiarity with the area (like Nick).

Exactly, I came to say something similar!
@Netsaver Жыл бұрын
The problem was that Bogo didn't say it like that. If he had just said what you said I'm pretty sure Judy would've taken it much easier. From how he said it, it was as if he was dismissing the fact that Judy worked harder than anybody else to become a cop something dominated by large animals only. If he had taken a minute to go "Look I get you worked your butt off to get here but you're new so I'm giving you parking duty so you can get the lay of the land." it would've not been an issue.
@SusanaCanales1 Жыл бұрын
@@Netsaverhonestly, I agree with bogo on that. So what if she worked hard? Everyone in the academy did and so did many who came before her. Doesn’t make her special and she shouldn’t be hailed as such because she was top of her class. Being top of her class doesn’t mean she’ll be a good cop or that it’ll keep her out of trouble out there. Even if he did explain, with how pushy she is, I doubt she’d have dropped it and accepted it.
@Netsaver Жыл бұрын
@@SusanaCanales1 While this is true you have to consider that she had a severe physical handicap and limit compared to other police officers. They are bigger, stronger, and much more intimidating than her. Heck they don't have be the top of the class to get in so long as they had the body to do so. Judy worked harder to take her handicaps and limits and turn them into a strength which is very difficult to do in real life. This is a job that has a certain expectation and requirement to do. Judy utterly destroyed both of those in ways they didn't think was possible. As for how she would've taken it while I agree she wouldn't have dropped it and accepted it, at the very least she would understand what Bogo was saying. Just because you understand someone doesn't mean you agree with them.

Back during the Kung Fu Panda 1 reaction on this channel, I referenced Jack Burke from the KZbin character art channel Subjectively, and how his video on Humans vs. Non-Human characters uses Kung Fu Panda to exemplify physical and conceptual themes of what makes someone special via the Furious 5 being animals. Zootopia was used right before that, and he emphasizes the beauty of every character being an animal to discuss the concept of race through a more comfortable and humorous lens. That’s the beauty of animation being able to discuss these topics substantially better that most live-action pieces. It especially emphasizes why Zootopia is so great, with the tried and true lesson that you can never judge a book by their cover until you read and understand its history. (Highly recommend checking Subjectively; great character artwork lessons and lots of League of Legends and Pokemon related stuff too)

"Giraffic" is a reference to a movie called "Gigantic" that was in production at the time, but cancelled.

Giraffic was meant to be a reference to then up-coming but now cancelled movie Gigantic, which was an adaption on Jack and the Beanstalk. It was canned because of story problems.

Did u know that otters are related to Honey badges? Honey badges that doesn't give a fox if a lion try pick q fight on it. Honey badges will attack anything that stands in its way. And otters are no exceptions. They will fight jaguars and crocodiles if they have too. And they too don't give a fox about it. Also do u know how big otters can be? Same size as a full grown German Shepard. And they can be a whole pack. If a crocodile swim in a otters territory it will be beaten up and eaten by otters. So yeah never underestimate otters.

Actually, the neighbors Bucky Oryx-Antlerson (the Kudu) and Pronk Oryx-Antlerson (Gemsbok) are voiced by director Byron Howard and Jared Bush, the writer and co-director.

Perhaps wolf urine, like how that deters coyotes and foxes from chicken coops in real life.

Otters are actual quite dangerous. They can be extremely territorial around their young, to the point of attacking and even killing much larger animals they feel may pose a threat to them. The giant otter, the largest of the species, have been seen and videotaped killing black caimans by biting it to death. There is also a case of a pack attacking a women where they bit and scratched the crap out of her face.

We had a river otter pop-up in one of the ponds behind our house and it was awesome. I have video of him eating fish. It was super cute but I did a quick Google search. And apparently they drowned things like dogs and children if they get too close. So I just told my kids to stay. Clear from it and we watched from a safe distance. I told them if they saw it in our yard that they weren't allowed in our yard and to let me know. Also, they are huge a lot bigger than you think they are.

As someone who has a pet bunny... they *absolutely* have nails. On all four feet. Those front paws are meant for digging and the hind paws are meant for defense. Watch the movie Watership Down if you ever want to see the kind of damage a rabbit can do...

42:15 "Giraffic" is, I think, a reference to a film that was planned but cancelled. The film would probably have been called "Gigantic" and would have been about giants.

I’m dumb and don’t know actors but the mayor at 35:50 made me immediately recognize the voice of Stanford from Gravity Falls and the googling that followed made me realize it’s J Jonah Jameson too. I’ve somehow lived this long never knowing this and honestly I’m surprised I know how to breathe.
