There's no point in him being Pirate King anymore. It just be a title and bragging rights. Which would have been more impressive without the gear system.

@@chadmarsh5356 Well Superman when he had weaknesses was a more entertaining character. He's not actually a god, but no weaknesses he might as well be close to it. Luffy was a way better character before the gear system happened. Now he also might as well be a god since he can do anything he wants as long as he uses his imagination. If he wants to he can choose not to ever die, he could just end up where the treasure is with the ship and his crew. Honestly gear 5 makes Luffy really boring, and saying it's unfair doesn't make it any less true.

It's literally the only reason he can't just turn his entire world into whatever he wants. He never would though because his entire ideal is to have adventure and there is no adventure when everything goes the way you planned it out
