What I love about Zoro's backstory is that it's the first one to really challenge their vision of life. Luffy and Ussop made some mistake but the moral of their backstories is that they had the good spirit, the good vision since they were kids. Zoro was a dreamer while Kuina was so realistic that she became pessimistic, Zoro manage to change her mind about life and then she died in the most realistic and simple way. Yes, you can brutally die one day by falling in your shower, stairs... And that make Zoro's ambitions even more impressive, he confronted reality and still choose to follow his dream

Wow, this was a great analysis!! It really pissed me off that Kuina was finally starting to believe that she could do great things as a woman and then passed so suddenly😭. I hope Zoro becomes the world’s best swordsman for not only himself but for her🥹 -ash

@@AJReax Yes I know it's frustrating. Fun fact, when Netflix asked Oda for a live action adaptation, before accepting Oda wanted to discuss with the director. During the discussion he asked "Why do you like One Piece?" and expected a precise answer, not just "I like the characters and the story". The director answered "I like that every character have an horrible past but they all overcomed it to follow their dream". Oda liked his answer, cause it's also what One Piece is about, overcome the brutality of life
