finally someone who agrees that they are not good as the fans are thinking. i fear it is not the fault of the authors, i will quote what someone have written on batoto: Based on Wikipedia it seems that the author planned to published it at Shueisha (Shounen Jump) and guess what? He declined the offer because they told him to tone down the manga to make it more ¨shounen¨ and went to another publisher (Kodansha) that´s a real author drawing what he wants and not what the editors want.

I would say it's no surprise that this anime is as famous as Naruto and is only a season in. My theory for its popularity is the, beautiful quality, the great story line, the amazing characters,and the first episode which confuses you, but also, makes you want to what the story unfold.
