How many amps is the power supply? I’ve tried to use one of these cameras with with a 12 V extension lead too much voltage drop for the camera to run

If you want cloud storage then yes, if you use micro SD card then no.

Can you put the 128 gb sd card in straight out the packet or have you got to do something to it in the computer

Put it straight in, remember to format it within the app.
