When I got into them in college, you could find plenty of ZF at finer record stores. ZF records often cost north of $25 apiece. Imports for the aficionado market. I gravitated to the cerebral side of industrial music (E.N., Hafler Trio, Muslimgauze, but I didn't have the disposable income to go along with it!

probably too old to even care, but i would say check out Necrophorus, or Apoptose's 'Nordland' LP... very interesting ambient stuff. Not what I'd call white noise though.

This is another band who I treasure as well as Chris and Cosey, who are wonderful ! I was blessed, sometime around 1990 (?) the band that I was in, TESTICULAR MOMENTUM, ( Look for videos of a few of our shows = soon to be up loaded ) got to open for this great band, :zoviet*france:, when they played @ the 9:30 Club on Fst - somewhere in the past of W.D.C. ! Good times.

How cool that you played at 9:30, about when was that? I'll look for your band. I lived about 6 blocks from that venue during the early 2000s and saw lots of bands there...Neubauten, Skinny Puppy, Sonic Youth, etc. I've been a fan of ZF since college when a friend gave me a blank recorded cassette tape but want to investigate more of their albums...

wow this is really cool. I have wanted a zf record for a while. I like this same kind of atmosphere from the pink dots, which usually transpires for five minutes in the middle of a song about space marriage.

For anyone that doesn't know thus isn't the whole album there is a part before this named what is not true that's about 19 minutes. If you search what is not true you will find full album. Maybe it was not added because it could be considered extremely upsetting to some..

Ok, I'll take a stab at it. What is not true. Religion and racism. Both real yet both untrue. Mass, shootings are senseless. Untrue. Newt Gingrich is a genius. Not true. Owning Boyd Rice albums means a person believes what Adolf Hitler believed. Not true. Peter Criss was an incredible drummer. Not true. Anyone else want to step up, or is this a game long since over ? I agree this is one of the most interesting and beautiful Zoviet France albums I've heard. Very hypnotic and mystical.
