ZT-703S Update Suggestions From FANS

Hello everyone, I'm Tim, welcome to the Tim1Tim2 channel. Recently, many friens have noticed some bugs with the ZT-703S. We hope the factory can release a firmware update soon. Don't worry, I believe the factory is even more eager to release a new version to fix these issues.
Few days ago, two fans gave me some really great suggestions, and today, I want to share them with you and hear your thoughts.
First, someone suggested that we could add a dust cover over the top port. This way, when we're not using it or only using the multimeter function, it won't get dusty, which might affect the oscilloscope. I think this is a great idea: it keeps it looking good, and it makes it more durable. I can suggest this to the factory, but it's up to them to do it or not. If I find out that it can also be done with 3D printing, I might make some and give them away to our fans.
Second, another fan mentioned that if I only want to use one channel, it would be great if the display could be enlarged. Right now, it only shows on half the screen. I also think this is a fantastic suggestion. When I'm using just one channel, I'd like to see a bigger display too. I hope this can be added in a future firmware update, and it shouldn't be hard to implement.

My Suggestions: - A possibility to export the real data (not only the screenshots as bitmap-pictures) of the captured signals to memory for copying it to a computer would be great. The sampled data should be in a format that can be easy analysed with free and/or open software. - Instead of the space consuming bmp-format for the screenshots it would be better to use compressed png-files. - more triggerfunctions and/or basic decoding possibilities and/or a basic FFT-function would be nice🤔 - The multimeter menue looks very empty in compare to the oscilloscope section. A really great feature would be the possibility to log the measured data of the multimeter-functions into the internal memory of the scope-multimeter. With an adjustable duration with adjustable timesteps (for example 1-300 measurement/minute for 1s-600min, of course dependent on what is possible with the limited memory). This would turn the unit also into a datalogger for voltage, current, resistance etc. Of course exporting that data should be possible. Bugs I found: - There are sometimes errors in the waveform while scrolling the captured wave in STOP-mode or also in Automatic- or Normal-Mode, when the triggerpoint is set to the outer borders. The artifacts in the waveform appear repeatedly in certain time-periods. Probably this is a firmware issue that can get fixed. - Another bug that probably will not get removed by firmware-updates is the bad and very noisy quality of the function generator, especially in sine-mode, but I can live with that... 😉

MY SUGGESTIONS: It is necessary to make sure that the signals from the additional generator can also be viewed on the same device. Otherwise, it turns out that you also need an oscilloscope. Better yet, expand the frequency range of the main generator to 500 kHz.

As other told: export to csv data, maybe In time transfering to computer data through USB C and please, the option to remove the analogic multimeter line or change it for something useful and accurate

i will suggest that the analog bar on the multimeter mode be made more accurate on the 703s with auto range rescaling to correspond with the actual measured value, its a nice feature that makes the multimeter interface full and less scanty, just a little bit touch to make it more accurate in all parameter measurement. the range can be increased from 25 to 100 as in 702s which will make good use of the larger screen size on 703s. please that bar should not be removed as few people suggested it gives the meter a more professional look.

Firmware version 138 (ZOYI-703S-FW-V138.ZTK) is now available. How does it differ from the previous firmware versions 127 and 132? Thank you for the information. 💡
