The highlight of this phone is definitely that gorgeous uninterrupted front screen. It's great for consuming content with those really good speakers. I always enjoys your videos Ben and I have always been intrigued by ZTE phones, especially since Xiaomi and Vivo don't sell them in the United States and it's hard finding one. I do a lot of nature photography but seeing the video and zoom will make it a hard sell but I do love the price

I'm literally waiting for the day that unobstructed screen returns. currently still using a 2019 phone with a pop up motorized front camera because the screen without a black dot is sooo satisfying for media. Really hope major brands can work on this behind the screen cam tech

I believe there are a lot of people out there who don't use the selfie camera very often or the main camera for the most part and just want a lightning fast phone that has a great display, good software and chargers very fast. I know I'm one of them, I'm 30 years old man, I don't take selfies very much lol. I really dont use the main camera often unless it's for taking pictures of my family.

What they should do with phones like this is put a mirror next to the rear camera so that those who want to take high quality selfies can use the back camera. For normal selfies or video calling, the under display can be used. Win/Win? An uninterrupted display is great for many reasons, some of which you have covered here.

I'm not big on selfies so the mediocre front camera doesn't really matter, also it seems to be good enough for video calls. If only this was available from where I live, because the cost to import one is quite sketchy and pricey. Great review as always 👌

Pop up camera is still the best solution to the all screen dilemma if you want to call it that. OnePlus and other manufacturers got it right there. This phone is interesting though.

Don't get me wrong, from a technical perspective this is awesome they have been able to do this nowadays. However, I still think the companies with the pop-up cameras had the right idea. Asus and their Zenfone flip line were super cool looking. Just using the rear camera for front photos makes so much more sense than constantly sacrificing the quality with things like this.

What I don't understand is why ZTE is leaning so heavily on the Samsung note/S22 ultra design anesthetic? I mean as someone who had an S21 ultra and traded it in for the S22 ultra and who also has a OnePlus 7T pro the S22 ultra is just not that comfortable to hold. But it has the S-pen so I make allowances. That being said if it wasn't for the S-pen I would WAY rather have a phone with curved edges all around, far more comfortable to use🤷‍♂️

Screen is the strong point but the front camera is the weak points. Back cameras are a good point but the phone itself is an nice points. Unfortunately for me I do take selfies of me and friends and family but so I'll probably not get this one. As cool as this is, it'll be up to companies to better software for videos or photos to be as clean as it can. Still this is the future I am hoping for.

Under display cameras aren't going to take great photos right, there really isn't any way around that until the tech gets better. ZTE is selling to people who don't really take selfies and just want an uninterrupted Display with slim bezels

I think I would rather have a visible selfish camera, then a hidden one that takes hazy photos. That's just my opinion. The display does look amazing, though. I feel torn on this issue.

@@bensgadgetreviews I don't know about that. The OnePlus 7 pro, while it did not have an official IP rating was able to survive in several water dunking and spray tests that KZbinrs put it through. If Samsung can make a relative large hinge water resistant with rubber gaskets and hydrophobic gels, I think they can figure it out for pop up cameras too.
