I am of the view that its scratching coz of the screen protector. Corning Glass should be tougher than the screen protector isnt it. Therefore if the Axon is not scratching you are comparing its real glass screen to a screen protector on the 3.

Not even a contest. Axon 7 wins hands down imo. Axon 7: * Better audio with speakers and headphones * Micro SD * Better screen resolution and larger display * Bigger battery * Unique design * Cheaper and comes with more high quality accessories Op3: * more ram 6 vs 4 (though there's a 6gb axon as well) * Better camera right now, but that could change * Slightly faster charging OP3 may be faster with load times in some apps, however if you tweak the screen resolution on the axon this would be a tie, and the axon would normally look better. So the axon you'll have the option of nearly identical performance and better battery life or better visuals.. Also vr potential. Idk what's not to like about having the option. Also If you order from many places you'll get bonuses with the axon like good headphones, gift cards, etc.

But it's still not as much of a value because it doesn't come with anything but the phone and dash charger in the box. The axon 7 includes some decent jbl headphones, a slim case, a micro usb to type C adaptor and quick 3.0 charger. Also if you order from b&h, newegg or a few others you'll get bonuses with the axon. For example newegg throws in some monster DJ Pulse headphones that used to be $200 alone (realistically worth maybe 50-100 now, but still a great pair).

Oneplus 3 also has better battery life and throttles less, meaning performance in games will be better. Getting 5-6 hours most days with the OnePlus 3. I think the worst I've got when playing a game for 3 hours was still over 4 hours overall.

I'm loving my Axon 7 with 128GB and 6GB ram. I've had OnePlus 1,2,x, and now I've switched. I've wanted dual speakers forever! and now, I also get a 2year included warranty, and a QHD screen that doesn't compromise the battery life. Also! the MiFavor user interface is ugly and I dislike it, so I use Nova Launcher, from the play store, and it's just as awesome as my OnePlus phones. Lastly, the backlight buttons are missed very much, and the MiPop feature helps, but they need to include back lights next year, definitely. Also, the finger print is very accurate and fast, and for anyone that disagrees, then I recommend deleting and reprogramming you finger print. Maybe you didn't scan the edges if your fingertips enough, or you didn't scan your print with casual hand holding angles.

E.g. Zte has amazing speakers, screen, and battery and the OP3 has better ram, fingerprint reading and speed (all 3 of which they try to pass off as irrelevant or not noticeable. Its noticeable, I have owned both phones.) Not to mention destroys the zte in the camera department. Rewatch the comparison, its a complete joke to say the zte outdoes the OP3. (I have used both phones and side with neither. Just pointing out how bad this comparison is.)

Very great comparison between the two phones. I already ordered and am waiting for my axon 7 phone. For those of you who say he is not a good reviewer and is more on the side of the axon 7, he tried both phones and came to his conclusion. I'm sure many of you have one plus 3 and are defending it at all costs. Don't judge until you try it yourself. Every phone has its flaws, no phone is perfect. You have to live with the flaws of your phone and make the best out of it. Based on this, I am actually leaning towards the axon 7 and there is a good chance software updates might improve low light pics of the camera.

Even though the OP3 has the option for the on-screen keys, the axon 7 has the mi-pop feature where you can have a back button on your screen. You also have other functions when you long press or when you press and swipe. I've seen only 1 KZbinr mention the mi-pop feature

I wanted phone for 2/3 years usage, so I ordered OP3 with lower resolution (VR it's not for me-not yet), amazing 6 GB of RAM (multitasking OP3 is tremendous and I don't have to worry about Nougat split screen feature), balzing fast fingerprint scanner, very good cameras, nice nearly stock customizable OS with Dark theme/mode, sRGB and Ambient Display, great build quality, the fastest charging in the world, better social support and 2 years warranty (UE law).

Heyyo, err Android Authority gave OnePlus One an awesome image... but seriously, the ZTE Axon 7 has so many better design wins... stereo front facing speakers, their 2 year warranty sounds amazing compared to OnePlus's 1 year, Qualcomm quickcharge 3.0 instead of being locked down to dash charge parietary, SD card... there's stuff like QHD which is handy for VR content and higher brightness... so yeah, for the same price? ZTE Axon 7 has some REALLY big wins (speakers + SD Card + 2 Year Warranty) and other wins.. OP3 has 6GB of RAM and a little faster fingerprint reader... I own a OPO, but if my phone were to die? ZTE Axon 7 wins for me purely for the stereo front facing speakers and the warranty and QHD for VR (got my Cmoar headset coming down the line).

I cant comment on the op3, but I can on the Axon 7 because I own 1. The Axon 7 is the phone HTC should have built. Overall audio quality is great and it's pretty loud. the camera is good, but I'm not trying to run a photo studio with my phone. yes the u.i. needs some polishing but according to ZTE, more updates are in the works. overall I'm happy with the hardware side of the device. if your looking at it after watching this review it's worth it. also check out ZTE community forum.

ZTE is the better phone overall, but I have to go with OP3 for the developer support. Nothing worse than having zero developer support, if I don't need root I would just go with Samsung or LG. Oxygen OS on the OP3 is exactly like a polished custom rom. Tap to wake, gesture camera, Dark mode, better notification management, and widget dock makes for a very polished near stock experience. You can't go wrong with either ZTE has the ext storage, better speakers, I wouldn't say better audio as Viper4Android running on rooted OP3 is great. The home button and keys on OP3 sold me, it is exactly like the HTC 10 or Notes 5. The fingerprint button on the back doesn't work for me if you have the phone docked in a car. That's why LG stopped doing fingerprint on the back.

WenJuckts everyone says the S7 has better battery life than the HTC 10, yet it takes around 9-11 hours for me to kill the battery even when I don't lock the phone and use it continuously. Peoples results vary on useage probably he uses an App with a high Sync rate and the OP3 doesn't have proper management for the app which the Axon 7 is capable of. Maybe the OP3 has problems connecting to the carrier (which drains battery life hardcore) that he is using with it while the Axon is perfectly fine which is actually more of a possibility since the OP3 has very little carrier comparability compared to the Axon.

all these review videos say you cant change the notification bell on the Axon 7. You can. A good reviewer would check all settings before making a video. Make sure you choose to give notifications the priority. If the lock screen has priority you will get a bell everytime :-)

Guys Axon 7 is Quad HD with stereo speakers and really the sound sounds so coool on axon 7 i have the axon 7s but its similar to axon 7 the difrence is 7s has dual rear camera and it takes pics like the iphone 7plus. But the disadvantage is there is very less choice for covers and screen protectors for the axon 7s. Where as the op3 has a lot. But i personally prefer QUAD hd screen and dual speaker over Full HD we are in 2017. Both are cool Mobiles enough with laggy samsung.

im not sure which one i prefer because i heard that the op3 didnt work in australia but people say the axon isnt a amazing company for customer support, i will wait till they are fully released here so i can compare prices

I bought a new gold 64 gig Note 5 for $399 and I love it. I looked at both of these phones too and the ZTE looked better with the speakers.

Excellent review mate, your best one so far! And to all ppl bitching about OP3 being the better phone, fellas, OP3 ain't no OPO. It has the best fingerprint and the fastest charging and that's about it. There are more compromises then it should be, so all clever ppl going for the Axon 7 this time around. Well done ZTE.

actually if you watched the video, it has better software, better dev support, better fingerprint scanner, faster charging. the zte phone is good but he didnt highlight any off its flaws as much as he did with the OP3, like the fact ZTE update schedule is terrible, and the axon 7 might not see android N till feb next year. or the fact that there is a lot of bloatware, i cant believe he didnt talk about the bloatware?

Michael Oguntimehin ever since 4.4.4 I can't care less about updates as things are getting worse and worse. Dev support is irrelevant because the Axon 7 is not officially out everywhere + ZTE promised to unlock the bootloader, where the OP3 has been around for a while now. Bloat solution - Apps - disable or Titanium backup, I don't see a problem here. And 1 last thing, ever since OPO with every single update they fix one thing and brake another. It took them 1 bloody year to release a stable versions for the OPO. Oxygen was disastrous with OP2 and not to mention that there are still lots of important bugs still haven't resolved for OP3 even after 3 or 4 updates already. So we come back only to the better fingerprint and faster charging, innit?

VoloKin Project not really. you say titanium backup but how do you get root without unlocking the bootloader and then voiding your warranty. Then that axon passport goes out the window so does customer support. And the axon is yet to be out to a decent side of people but already there are complaints of the software. Zte won't unlock the bootloader for everyone in fact. You have to show you have a clear understanding with flashing ROMs and root access so you may not even get the access key to unlock your bootloader. So it's up to you, you clearly don't like oneplus as a whole so i can't change your mind. I understand rhe frustrations especially with the OP2 but so far the OP3 has been golden

VoloKin Project I'm not saying you don't I'm just saying as a comparison, you'll have to jump through a few hoops where as all i did on my OP3 is boot into fast boot and say oem unlock. I don't intend on re locking my bootloader cus nothing will go wrong. I've never had an issue where i need to send my phone anywhere, I'm very careful with what i flash and what i download. But i understand that you'll be looking for a phone that just works and then yeah i would say based on OP1 and 2 that OP isn't the way to go for just a phone that keeps going. Seems like you like the features and the extra functions. I just like simple, raw performance. Everything else i mix and match with rom

Well, I had dead pixels on my Nexus 4 back in the day, had to re-lock and send back to Google. Yellow tint on my OPO, I'm glad I've waited for it to disappear instead of sending it back. Screen retention on my G4 and dead pixels on my V10. Unfortunately that's why I got a Note 5 in the end. But anyway, if you wanna mess around with flashing there's no better phone at the moment. To be honest with you I expected OP to rock the world once again like with the OPO and especially how they screwed up with the OP2, so I expected a bit more this year. Anyway, new phones coming every 2 months now, so we'll see.

I don't feel like he is bias but I must say that for the video capture, Oneplus 3 is ahead of Axon 7. The dynamic range and color reproduction is better in Oneplus 3. But this can be solved through SW update for the Axon 7. Also Oneplus 3 has longer SoT (screen On time) compared to Axon 7. But judging by the QHD that the ZTE has, I must say the ZTE is way better in terms of battery performance.

Screen Resolution and expandability is a dealbreaker. I plan on getting a Daydream VR headset, and I'll be 4k video recording a lot, so plenty of storage will be needed. However, the OP3 has plenty of better features, so take it with a grain of salt, and choose whilst thinking about your preferences, not other peoples opinions :)

i think both phones are an excellent choice for anyone looking for a new phone, which one you choose is just a matter of preference. if you like audio/music and movies go with the axon (especially with the expandable storage, for storing al your favorite movies) and if you like a slighty faster phone and are looking to use the phone as a camera, choose the 1+3

would a nexus 6p be a good choice over the axon 7 and the oneplus 3? because i would like a good camera and music experience, and i am not a very heavy user so i don't think i'd notice the (negligible?) difference between the snapdragon 810/ adreno 430 and the snapdragon 820/ adreno 530. please advise, because these three phones are almost at the same price where i live. fyi, i currently use an almost 4 year old lumia 820 lol!

I've never had a ZTE so I've no idea how they are. But I had two different Oneplus and I will never go their smartphones again. The Oneplus One was just a great phone! Cyanogen worked exceptionally well and the phone was just special! I also enjoyed the unlocked bootloader which gave me the option to swap between different mods easily. With the Oneplus Two I was aiming for a everyday phone. Oxygen OS worked worse after every single update! Hardware stopped working without reason and it took them 2 months to send me a new device!!! I shared 5 invites with some friends and they all had problems with the Oneplus. From now on I will probably always go for the Nexus devices which work just perfectly!

main things I like about both: axon 7 - front loud stereo speakers -sd card support -better battery life -2 years warranty It would be great if it has solid black color option and maybe with gold accents like camera ring and fingerprint ring oneplus 3 -mute switch

I'm really happy with my Xiaomi Mi 5. Original design and form factor; plus not a gigantic 5.5 inch phone in the phablet category either like OP3 or Axon7. And really, I thought the Software might be an issue on it, but tbh I found it to be cleaner and better than my previous phone (Xperia Z3).

Great review! Neither phone is perfect, but for the way I use phones, those stereo speakers, higher res screen, room for SD Card and better battery life have me eyeing the Axon, even though I think the OnePlus is a better looking phone.

Axon 7 is the easy winner. OnePlus has much less stable software (I've owned a one) and im in love with those speakers.

Props to Android authority for also comparing the custom ROM support. I know it varies by time but it matters to the many of the power users and the main demographic for these phones. I wish more reviewers put effort into checking out the development support of devices. I myself picked up OP3 because OnePlus development support is second to only nexus devices.

It's simply not possible that the OP3's screen scratches more easily. Both are Gorilla Glass and as JerryRigEverything has proven, all of the same generation Gorilla Glass phones scratch the same.

Did he say the Axon 7 works on all other US carriers? Does that mean it works on Sprint? My research says it doesn't, but I don't fully understand why some phones aren't working with Sprint.

I might have waited for Axon... I love my oneplus though. The dash charging is the deal breaker though, it charges stupid fast! It's so nice when you're going out and being able to plug it in for 10 minutes while everyone is getting ready and having a fully charged phone once you leave! The only real +'s for Axon are the display and SD card, nobody really uses speakers.

This decision is hard! I am excited about daydream vr and its compatibility with Axon 7 and it's sharper screen helps me choose it but not without seriously craving the 6gb ram on the oneplus 3. Oh and I'm a Samsung fanboy so I would doubt the quality of ZTE and Oneplus so the extra year of warranty helps with the Axon.

For me, both of these devices are similar enough that I have a hard time choosing between them. I like the design of the oneplus better, but the Axon's audio capability is very appealing. Because the two of them perform so similarly I have a hard time figuring out what to do, but I think I'm going with the Axon.
