Agreed. I think people look at what Klopp did and think that there should’ve been more trophies. And they blame FSG for that, but they forget that 1 Premier League and 1 Champions league could very easily have been 3 Premier Leagues and 3 Champions Leagues. I admit I don't know anything about this guy but I feel like Liverpools management are pretty smart and have had a lot of success with their transfers over the years, so if they think he's good I'll go with that. One thing I am happy about is that they certainly don't seem to worry about the fan base. I'm sure they do in some ways, but what I really mean with that is that if they did care about what the fans were saying they probably would've gone and made some signings just to placate the fan base. I always felt like it made sense to wait a bit, let the manager assess what he already had, and then make a decision on who to go for, so I hope they do get this guy. As a Liverpool fan I'm extremely excited about the upcoming season. I don't really expect us to be challenging for the title (maybe a little, a dream) but I expect we'll get top 4, and I'm just excited to see what Slot can do with these players.

The fact that Slot's tactics focus more on the defense than the attack makes me fall in love with him. Under Klop our high line gave too much room for our oppositions to score and that's where Van Dhyk would have serious problems. He loves the High line, he hid so much under it but once the opposition striker beats it, Van Dhyk has no answer to it. Unfortunately this Slot's defensive tactic will expose his limitations and getting a quality Central Defence like Calafiori would b the best.

As an LFC fan, i really dont like to count chickens before they hatch, but at least on the face of it, they do look like they in a damn good position to do great: 1. A solid pre-season with every passing match doing better in attack and defence 2. A clear and solid style of play 3. A manager that seems to have good vibes, expressing freedom through his players 4. Proper assessments being done before deciding if transfers is needed (Zubimendi deal is a good example since they do require a more solid dm) 5. A squad full of young talent being driven by more experienced, top quality players that have had big success in previous seasons Its looking good, LFC fans can sleep peacefully knowing we well setup for future, all that must just happen, is to win as much games as possible to clinch those trophies

Big diffrence........ Caicedo was talking to Chelsea for months and Liverpool tried to snipe him with a last minute bid. This is the other way round, they have been talking to Zubimendi for quite a while and he's bought into the Liverpool philosophy (don't forget he didn't buy into the Arsenal or United philosophy and turned them down). Also this is Mike Edwards!! Billy Hogan jumped the gun with the Caciedo deal but Edwards is MUCH more Savvy than that.

honestly if we get this over the line then call it a day transfer wise i’ll be happy, i don’t think with even 3/4 signings we’d have enough to win the league just cus pep exists, klopp only did it once with a super team so aslong as we get top 4 and have a good cup run im happy. Then next season slot will truly know who he likes and doesn’t so we can improve further then maybe go for a title. Top 4 is the goal in the league and with this one signing i’m 95% sure we make it

Without another centre back I really can't see us getting top 4. We are very light at cb and have injury prone players there. One or two cb injuries and the season is over. Zubimendi and a cb and I think we are sorted.

Need a CB absolutely. Got 3 solid starters on Virgil, Konate, Quansah. Sepp hopefully breaks through this season like Quansah but unguaranteed. Gomez is hit and miss in the CB position nowadays. Has good games but lots of mistakes here and there.
