Ancient Romans would hold conquered chieftain's children as collateral so the chief would keep his tribe in line and toe the Roman line. Meanwhile, the kid received a Roman patrician education and be convinced of the superiority of Roman culture over their own. The child could eventually inherit authority from their parent and the tribe would be ruled by a Roman in all but name, who would still understand enough of the tribe to bridge the gaps. Today I saw a young man at least 25 years old and at least 6'5" walking in Cambridge,Ma with a mildly attractive young girl. He was smiling and REALLY engaged in conversation with her. You could tell he spent a lot of time being socially awkward as a teenager. Weird thing was he was wearing a skirt and woman's blouse and dangling earrings! And the thought came to mind that perhaps this is the only way he could think of to get ANY kind of interest or interaction from women is to take on the persona of a woman!!!! Food for thought on the psychological damage Gen Z and Millennials men are struggling with.

What men aren't addressing for these young men is how to be a man if they aren't yet married and don't yet have a family. I don't really hear any of these guys talk about this except for the red pillers who are providing messages that aren't necessarily good or healthy. Those guys cropped up as a response to feminism and the dismal dating market. More of the OGs need to address this because many of these young men have no fathers in the home. They don't have the role models to show them how to navigate the world, whether it's through religion or sports or something that provides self esteem for them to be men until they can embody the role of a family man. You can tell them how to be traditional family men all you want, but if it's something they don't see in their lives or have no identification of this standard, then it's going to go in one ear and out the other ear. I don't know if the traditional model of men can survive unless some of the pillars of manhood are made to be a bit more flexible to compensate for the current ills of society that have chipped away at what used to be social norms. We can't expect these young men to take on these traditional roles until they are healed or taught resiliencies to withstand the weapons that seek to dismantle collective masculinity.
