I understand it was pretty obvious to figure out, but because I didn’t hear her voice I made my own theory that the kyoshi warriors were brainwashed by dai li. @@Kyzen_Wrellit’s been confirmed that toph invented metal bending. Metalbending was just a theoretical idea that no one really thought was possible until toph did it. She was able to figure it out because of the fact that she sees with earthbending. This ability allowed her to feel the small bits of rock throughout the metal and bend with them. Without her ability to see with earthbending, she wouldn’t have figured it out. Which is why no one has figured it out until her. No one has ever become so adept at using seismic sense before.

You have to think of Zuko as a 16-year-old teenager who has been desperately seeking his father's approval for years (even before he was expelled). Suddenly, he has the perfect opportunity to get that which (he thinks) he wants so badly. All the characters in the series have great development, but Zuko is undoubtedly the most elaborate of them all, and I would even say that his level of importance is on par with Aang.

This nice Zuko is just like how Sasuke was after joining team 7.He calmed down and let go of his "avenging the Uchiha" scheme. But as soon as he saw Itachi back, he reverted back to his old self. In the same way, as soon as Zuko saw Azula, he reverted to how he was before he was sick.

The Avatar can absolutely use "subsections" of bending, but Aang had the most difficulty with Earth so it would be extremely difficult for him to learn metalbending. Especially since it seems to be incredibly difficult for Earthbenders too considering Toph is the first one to do it.

@@Celestia282 Ice hasn't been counted as a sub-section, I mean most of the secondary powers need to be trained in or are only achieved by a few members of a bloodline while ice seems to come naturally to waterbenders, it seems to just be normal waterbending just like ice is just normal water but cold. The sub-sections of waterbender are healing and that other things because apparently those don't come naturally but of course those distinctions are pretty artificial in the first place, as Pathik just said separation is the greatest illusion.

Letting go of attachment doesn't mean you stop caring or loving. It means you accept that its temporary. And you are prepared for loss. Whether it be old age, car accident or whatever. Having attachment only creates problems. You are sad if you lose it. You can get jealous or possessive. You can become angry and seek revenge. You become fearful of something bad happening. You will start making bad decisions. The list goes on and on. And there are no upsides. You can love and care without attachment. Its not easy and is considered a lifelong journey to get rid of all attachment. But its very possible to get close to 100% letting go of all attachment.

So i have always liked the character arc of Sokka even back when he was not in my top five favorites. It’s in the back ground and it only gets any amount of prominence in a handful of episodes. In Baton Rouge of the water tribe we see Sokka saying good by to his dad. The last lesson he gets is “being a man is about knowing where you are needed the most.” And FINALLY Sokka gets to be where he wants to be, at his father’s side. But then Aang comes back and Sokka is forced to chose again. And he leaves and Hakoda looks so proud of his son. On a first time watch though it’s harder to see the connection between S1 E15 and S2 E19. That’s why i am pointing it out.

Avatar Extras The Guru This episode is part one of the Book Two finale. 0:41 Jook is rice boiled overnight until it becomes soft and runny 1:20 this is Chameleon Bay. The bay gets its name from the numerous color changing trees in the area. As of this episode, Aang has officially visited three out of the four air temples. The Guru is well over a hundred years old, hence how he knew the air nomads and was a friend of Monk Gyatso. He is the oldest person Aang has ever met and is even older than Aang. He is the oldest person in the Avatar World but NOT the oldest living thing. The guru spent most of his life studying yoga and meditation before reaching spiritual enlightenment. Now he is connected to all cosmic energy. The word chakra actually means "wheel". It represents the wheel of time and refers to celestial order and balance. Celestial order and balance are Avatar-heavy concepts. The fourth chakra is the "air" chakra. This chakra should be easy for Aang-he is an airbender, after all. Personal Thought: This episode does well in balancing how its audience feels. One moment you feel in peaceful bliss, and then the next, you can be in such an uncomfortable place. As the story builds, one group is getting closer to peace, another is getting closer to tragedy. These seasons almost bear an eerily resemblance to each of the Star Wars Movies like Season 1 is like A New Hope, followed by Season 2 as The Empire Strikes Back, and the third season as the Return of the Jedi. Crossroads of Destiny The Crystal Catacombs in this episode are a part of "Old Ba Sing Se". Before Ba Sing Se was a sprawling metropolis it was a small, underground city carved by earthbenders. 27:41 This is the same Dai Li agent that hesitated when Azula was lecturing the agents at the beginning of the episode. Rumor has it, he got his scar because he gave away too many secrets (as he is doing now). This is the first time Zuko and Katara are alone together in the series. And at 32:48 This is the only time Zuko lets someone touch his scar. 41:05 Melon…Zuko chose to *BETRAY* them. He made his choice and returned back to his ways. 39:33 If you remember from the beginning of this season, Roku warned Aang that if the Avatar dies while in the Avatar State, all past and future Avatars will cease to exist. Though we knew that Katara was going to bring Aang back with her special water, the writers have confirmed that Aang *DID DIE IN THAT MOMENT*. For a brief moment the avatar, the best chance at restoring peace to the world and ending the war, had died. Also seeing how information such as the avatar state and Katara’s water from the beginning of the season plays a part in the finale is a nice touch. In summary: everything is in shambles. As we move onto the third season, we leave this season where not only are the heroes beaten and torn, but the villains have taken over even more land, have taken down the power/government that poses a real threat to the Fire Nation, the possible ally has turned back into a villain, and they are hunted more now than they have ever been throughout the entire series.

"Azula looks stronger than katara", yeah azula always had that "invicible" aura surround her, but you gotta remember that katara is a waterbending master and a prodigy just like azula, not only that but katara is even better than azula when it comes to learning and being a prodigy, in only few weeks of training she became a fully waterbending master, something no one ever did before. What makes katara feel "weaker" is because she is not always using her full potential because there is not enough water around, she fully depends on that small water pouch that she carries around to bend, using mostly water whip and small moves, while if she has enough water she will easily beat azula. A waterbending master will always be above a firebending master when it comes to their full potentail, while a firebending master can always use their full power since they have no requeriment, a waterbending master is limited to the amount of water they have suround them, wich is a disadvantage for them.

He still has unresolved issues with his Dad and Sis, he's still a lonely kid trying to figure out his purpose in life, and part of him still longs for his father's approval. Expecting him to be 'betray' not only his dream of 3 years but his family (shitty as she is, Azula is family and has occasionally shown signs of caring for him albeit perhaps as someone to look down on or abuse) as well was a step too far.

Every avatar can do subsets of the four elements (it's part of why they're op). The only limit it how much time they have in their lifetime. Example when Toph first teaches Aang she teaches him to earthbend without seeing because she wants him to use seismic sense like she does. Don't get me wrong, he failed because it was his first time with his opposit element but she taught him because he is capable of learning it and any other sunset. Just as how Roku and Kyoshi can lavabend (amongst other things but no spoilers 😄)

5:45 Yeah the last time you see kyoshi warriors is the fight vs azula in the ep of Appa's last days. It does a freeze frame then the fight cuts. Kyoshi warriors got their butts whooped by azula 🤣
