That character IS Venom though. Venom originated from the Spider-Man series and then got its own comic book series. The toy in the box looks like the design from the 90s Spider-Man animated series.

OMG! We have been trying so hard to get all the Toy Story stuff. I cannot believe you got the stepping out Buzz and the VHS. My 26 year old son watched Toy Story from a VHS tape non stop! It literally had to be playing in the background constantly!! I tried to get the Buzz because he is part of the display box and I heard Target just throws the entire box in the trash but they would not do it. I even offered to pay for it, still no!
