Zuru CEO slams Hasbro...over water balloons

Nerf's newest summer product "Better Than Balloons" have had a lukewarm reception and a viral tiktok of them working poorly got the CEO of competing brand Zuru to call them out. From bad QC to paid for reviews, let's see if he has a point.

"Reusable water balloons" are balls that consist out of two overlapping soft rubber three-quarter-spheres, that hold water until they hit something. Nerf's version is called "Super Soaker Hydro Balls" but there's a bunch of brands and off-brands. Or maybe they are referring to those sponge balls that you soak in water and fling at people.

I think these are slightly different than the hydro balls. I saw these in the store earlier in the week and thought about buying them but couldn’t bring myself to take a chance on wasting more money on Hasbro garbage.

there are some called “water wow funny water bombs” that while pricey, are waaay better than any of these. They are reusable and work really well. Had a blast using them. Also, when you’re not using them they end up being fidget toys clicking them open and closed .

Funny thing: Nerf actually does have a reusable "water balloon" as well--it's two pieces that you slot together while they're submerged in water. I'm willing to bet that they work a heck of a lot better than these things...

Definitely, but not as well as actual balloons. But those sponge things (Nerf calls them Super Soaker Waterbombs but there's a ton of manufacturers) get some nice splash damage.
