As we open Women’s Month, we pay tribute to Veteran actress Mukondeleli Candy Moloi who was the first woman to broadcast in Tshivenda language on Television as a host of SwaHombe ZwaNthesa magazine programme on SABC 2. She was also one of the original cast members of the SABC2 soapie, Muvhango as the famous original Vho-Makhadzi. We look at her journey throughout the years. Several well-known colleagues also pay tribute to her. Some of the shows she appeared on including SABC 2’s comedy series Stokvel, SABC 2 drama series Thola, Hola Hamonate, as well as the Shakespearean inspired mini-series ‘Death of a Queen’ on SABC 1, where she starred in the role of MaModumedi. In recent times, she had also appeared in the popular SABC2 telenovela ‘Giyani - Land of Blood’.
