And later on he almost got a heart attack because he missed another ult straight into the enemy fountain. Zwag said it himself, it's very very easy to mess up with Briar because you're out of control during her combat. The only control that you have is when do you engage, and how. After that, the champion has to play itself to be useful.

Infinity might actually be a good item for her. You get ad for passive, and I think her second activation of w counts as a crit meaning it is amped by crit damage. She also has a ton of ad and as meaning crit chance is pretty good on her. In fact, a crit ad build might be viable on her.

If I were to describe Briar for her playstyle, it would be "go big, or go home". Jokes aside, she is a high risk high reward champ thanks to the frenzy and the unstoppable ult.. She can be considered broken in the right hands, since her damage output is insane, she heals a lot, and she has amazing chase and mobility. Not to mention that you went Bruiser build and got a pentakill. Lethality build can one shot, but you'd want to use Briar mainly for that amazing sustain and damage.. By amazing, I mean it's like K'Sante's two forms conjoined into one person. The weaknesses she has is she only has one chance to cancel her W unless she kills her target, and the ult has so much room for misplay. Her early game is weak, so she needs a little bit of support or good early game teammates to finish off the low hp laners.

Therory craft time for a nutcase Tank Briar build in top or mid Runes can be Conq or PTA, triumph, tenacity, last stand or cut the grass, conditioning, and overgrowth [players digression for the last 3 runes] I also thought about Grasp but it can be hard stack depending on the matchup E start to help clear wave, Q for short trades, W for when you want to all in Up to you what you wanna max first recommended Q or E max first depending on build then W max Build a BoRK [since it is kinda busted] then go Heartsteel for cd and hp, or Jacshos for extra armor and mr, into a Titanic Hydra. Boots can be armor, mr or attack speed [if you wanna be funny take cd]. Last 2 items [or 3 if you wanna be a degenerate and run no boots] can be a variety of ad, healing or more tank stuff such as Deaths Dance for more sustain with your life steal, Spirits Visage for the same reason, Steracs Guage if you want a sheild, Abyssal Mask if their team is a bunch of ap pricks, Gargoyle Stone Plate if you wanna become Big Briar, your choices are nearly endless Have fun trying this idea out.

I swaer, Briar looks fun as hell and my play style. I played noct way back when and it reminds me so much of going in and going ham on one person back in the day before a dedicated jungle role. I imagine some of her numbers will be reduced, and probably range of the ult just a bit. In the end she is EXTREME high risk and high reward because of that self berserk.

Briar can use Bruiser and Lethality build but I mix black Cleaver with Lethality Items and the boots are situational

She's powerful, but I think the counterplay is pretty obvious really. Her ult is known to everyone (similiar to sion's roar when he ults), so if you have a mobile champ on your team, like a fizz, azir, etc. Its better for them to take the hit and dash back into turret or fountain. Or, if you have a tank, have them eat it and let everyone shred her while she's stuck blood lusted on the tank, etc. Rammus is a complete counter for her as well, and any healing reduction items are her bane. I suspect she won't see much in the way of nerfs because right now she seems strong because people aren't aware of her, but once she's more well known she's going to be more like a teemo, that's strong, but situational and stompable if you know what you're doing. I also suspect she'll see limited use in pro play. That being said, the best combo with her I can see if pairing her with Kalista, since kalista can ult to get her out of trouble.

Any champ is a top lane champ if you can freeze a minion wave. Definitely seems like a champ that will go no-flash though, and most likely will be run primarily cleanse-smite since cleanse won't remove your W or your Ult, but it will be useful to take off ignite or other statuses. - Or go smite-ignite herself for when the bleed isn't quite enough to let an enemy die under tower after you E them away. Folks probably going to play her as either an on-hit "Assassin", master Yi style, or a bruiser build with BotRK, and stridebreaker for an AOE slow to use on enemies you W'd onto so they can't kite as much and take more autos. - First 3 autos at least until your BotRK steals their move speed. - Can also see a TP/Ignite/Cleanse top lane build running BotRK into full tank, but with her "all or nothing" style of kit she's liable to be a coin flip where either she gets fed early and carries or gets poked out of lane and can't play the game. - Plus enemy top lane will probably just counter her with a plated steelcaps and bramble vest so she dies of her own W. - Definitely ban Rammus or Malphite every game.

For briar, I personally prefer taking conq, triumph, blood line, last stand, taste of blood, ultimate hunter, Adaptive Adaptive, armour. With divine, cd boots, grudge, Bork path, and anything else after that being whatever ya want. You can solo baron at 20min if you can get these 3 items by then. Maybe even just divin and bork

It seems like she's going to be the type that's useless af if she falls behind, but giga broken if she gets fed. But my gosh, just the fact that she can outheal Warwick...you'd really have to be trash to fall behind on her. There's so much not okay with this champ right now. I like how she has a mind of her own almost with a lot of her skills, but my gosh do they need to drastically reduce those numbers. As well as the length of that ult. I was hyped to play her, but I REALLY don't like playing champs that can just wipe the floor with the enemy team if she gets fed. But then again, I am trash at champs like her, so I'd probably be one of the few that somehow fell behind...

Tip theres an indicator for the enemy if Briar ults. Its maybe semi global but its like Twisted fate ult just because the enemy know that you ulted
