Hey! I’m the guy that went for the flyer at the end (J Gallo) that you caught about 30m from the line. I’m 18 and pretty experienced for my age racing in real life but I haven’t done much on Zwift. I did way too much panic chasing and pushing the power up to try to stay at the front of the group and just barely ran out at the end. It was really interesting to see this from another perspective. I learned quite a lot from this one race. Great riding man! I’ll definitely be doing more soon. :)

@@charliethedog7579 Thats so cool! Thats the main point of this channel, to learn from eachother and gain more experience. You have a good sprint, if you saved it for the end i think you would have won. Looking forwards to meet you in some other races 💪

I think you played that race out perfectly. Saving energy to release that huge sprint. That little 1% rise at the finish feels more on tired legs but on a fast sprint its not noticed so much. Well done.

@@everydayzwifter Thanks! Yes I actually didn’t noticed it on this race, while on the other video, my max sprint was 600w and i did notice it. Hehe good observation there ☺️

Speeds are very fast on this route - I am surprised you caught those two flyers that went early but you did a solid job at just putting down big power until the end and they fatigued and dropped their power. Well done. I raced this route three times this week: once in the Range 1 650 pen and once in the Range 2 700 pen back-to-back earlier this week, and then once in the Advanced 700+ pen early this morning. I went efficient all three times though - I am a sprinter profile and there is no way I'm attacking on this route 😅 It will be interesting to see how that goes for you in your in second video. Like you, I had a lot of fatigue in my legs from the end of the year (Rapha 500, PRL Full, Alpe du Zwift PB) when I raced this the first two times. I finally took a full day of rest before I raced the Advanced 700+ ZRS version of this race because I knew I would have no chance if I tried on tired legs. Even though the competition was tougher, the race went much better because my legs were fresh. I'll be posting that Advanced 700+ race to my channel once it finishes processing.

Nice one! Good decision to let the other sprinter pass and draft a bit from him!

@@OmnycronZ To be honest, i hoped someone else was going to chase them, but when no one did, i thought they were gone and i would sprint for 3rd place. Im surprised i managed to catch hehe 🥳

Great strategy and sprint timing. 5sec gap with 400m to go and you using the towel 😂 Looking forward to watch the second video. Congrats

@@TheTravesty2012 Very often yes, its a huge difference to draft and save vs doing all the work in the front. But you can be surprised sometimes. Check the second part «breakaway» 😁

@@t-larsen Do you try to be on the draft as much as possible? Because being red (FTP kind of effort) most of the time sounds like you might be on a higher category 🤔 Good training anyway 💪
