“I don’t want to be 69th because it is a funny number” 🤪 Brilliant continued efforts and some comedy thrown in! 🎉 Top work and top top effort, Lee! 💪 🚲

Thank you, Simon. Nobody wants to be the sex number. Like I said on Discord, found this really tough. But it was really enjoyable. I'd like to have a go at a sprint/points race when feeling a bit fresher. They're intense but fun.

Monster effort Lee, with all those segments to sprint and climb for points. It looked like you should have scooped up a fair few points in that race! Looking good for the following stages. Your HR not getting to max probably is due to fatigue and you will notice it more in the coming days I would imagine, but once this tour is over you will be an absolute beast! 💪💪💪

Thanks Mark. 👊 I'll check the GC later and see. I definitely lacked power on a lot of the segments, but it seems like everyone else did a bit, too. Quite funny, seeing everyone's power tailing off over multiple stages. Yeah, agree about the HR. The next stage being an iTT might give a little chance for some recovery. But the final two are going to be pretty tough again.

Crazy effort on a two-lapper of that route! I could almost feel how tired your legs must have been from watching the webcam footage. Really took some will power to keep pushing, especially strong to make a comeback after getting dropped (and cursing at yourself) during that downhill. You should be particularly proud of that. I think that is the right mindset for a long tour: Even when you are tired and cranky, try to push if you can at all, and you’ll be way more pleased with yourself afterwards. Look forward to seeing what you get up to on the last stages. Keep rocking

Thanks Thomas 👊 I agree. I'd have been (more) disappointed with myself if I'd not tried to catch those dudes. When I was watching this back whilst editing it, I wish I'd pushed to catch back on with the front group on Sgurr South the first time. But it's easy to think you could have when you're sat down, after the fact. Kind of looking forward to the last two brutal stages, to see how much I can wring out of myself. Hopefully I'll get some gains out of this.

@@lee-cyclingI'm sure you'll see the benefits once you've taken a couple days off racing and brought yourself back online. Especially with all this uncomfortable night time racing you'll probably need a good rest. Bu no time for that now - soldier on, my man!

Managing fatigue is the key to these races. The courses are so long they really take it out of your legs
